Ive seen them live are pretty good, but not hearing any of their actual studio stuff me thinks they are over-hyped but id like to check out an album or some releases any recommendations? sorry to be a complainer but one thing that really irritates me about this new sound is how specific and similar artists like Hudson Mowake, Rustie, Flying lotus and Lazerswords strive to sound like each other. I honestly don't know who's copying who but its just trying way too hard to sound this specific 'crazy sid melody arpegio' sound and smashed side chained compression the whole time. Flying Lotus is probably the most tolerable for me out of the bunch but even his stuff is very formulaic now
