the album is a quasi remix album based on the track Chichli from Chiastic Slide. although to my ears it sounds like totally new work just like most of Ae's remix work.

the patch as far as i know is only compatible with maxmsp. did you try it with that first?

they definitly do what you describe in one form or another. Im suspecting they do it with max/msp mostly due to the inner workings of the confield-era patch. However it could also be done with Reaktor, Battery, and even hardware synths and samplers . I recently purchased a machine drum and the very confirgurable retrigger loop settings sound very similar to Autechre's recent work. and after long hours of attempted reverse engineering i found that the hardest part of recreating the autechre stutterung sound is getting the pleasurable synth timbres created when sped up very fast.

ok apparently i was wrong that 90% of the tracks were unreleased, now that i have more autechre listening experience i recognize a lot of them. Id still say about 40-50% of the tracks on these - 1999 10/01 palm springs 2000 Berlin shows is unreleased. the 2000 7/01 Tokyo show i thought i had but i guess its been deleted. I also just found 2 Gescom shows gescom - 2001 - live @ paradiso & gescom - 2002 - live @ manchester the paradiso one is an audience recording but it is all unreleased rhythmic beat material, the latter is all unreleased but its a very harsh noisy experimental set. Alex check for these on www.recordlabelrecords.org/aelive/ in about 1.5 hours.

chiastic slide is probably my favorite overall autechre album. The last song is simply amazing. the buildup is very intense but subtle. Autechre was on top of their game sound design wise for this album
