yes, that is like an alpha version of the album on hand made CDR pressings, i know it is confusing. The album was released prematurely, i sat it on it for over 2 and half yeards wondering what to change in it to make it better and finally settled on a few major chances cut out a buch of the filler and got it mastered by someone that does good stuff Its kind of what happened with Jega geometry, i let too many people hear it in its unfinished form and was daunted and unnecessarily sensitive to their criticisms (from a unfinished work none the less i need to have thicker skin) so i kind of got shy about it and went baclk to the drawing board. Jega claims the version of geometry that comes out will be totally different but it hasnt happened yet Soul Oddity , Brownout and the remix 12" with the ae remix is phenomenal. Im sad that they havent released anything since. Last time i did a big show and Otto von shirach played i asked him whats the deal with phonecia and he said they have been sitting on 2 entire full length LPS that were destined to be the reigniting of Schematic records (since it appears at the moment they have stopped making records). There have been no announcements officially so i dont know if its ever going to happen.

ive often wondered why phonecia hasn't done something sinc.e I loved that album so much that i asked the guy who mastered it (xopher/antimatter) to master my newest LP (gaseous opal orbs) and i was very happy with the result

i would have to agree pretty much with this sentiment, since almost all Autechre's albums are amazing and of very high quality i want to make clear this does not reflect negatively on Quaristice, its a great album. Its just going to take a long time to grow on me

does anyone here feel like Autechre is taking the piss with this release but still really loves it? (like me)

i saved a huge 3 zig zag spliff for the moment i listened to the quarisrtice CD. i popped it in my car and listened to it all the way trhough, my first impression was mixed and alot of the tracks i havent heard already (that werent leake don the wire, etc) werent super impressive to me. Now im finding that the ambient tracks i kind of ignored are shaping up to be someof my favorites. Still a few tracks i cant get past though such as Perlence and Plyphon . Eventually maybe ill like them but for now they just sound really poorly executed. I Think overall this album is a lot more immediatly catchy than Untilted, but its strange i havent been listening to it very much since that first spliff session. I plan to listen again in a few days and see if i find anything new about it. Untilted however was very jarring when i first heard it and unlikable, and it has grown on me quite alot (it took practically two years)

i think either you or someone else told me about what was in that recording i havent heard it myself yet, is there a chance of getting that WAVE recording of the set off you? that would be killer

hmm im HOPING that sean realizes that the only reason people are buying the special edition , and paying $60 is for the extra CD. so if hes going to stick by his own standards they should not make the 2nd disc the fucking live set,that would just be a joke. paying $60 for something that was free to begin with. Sean just read that and now he's frantically scrambling to put some material together for the bonus disc. lol, i was just thinking that after what Ism said ok message to sean: i know releasing the live show on disc would be 'milking it' so please just dont include any more tracks from your 2005 sets on it. everybody whos a hardcore fan (the same people who are probably buying the limited edtion) already have heard several variations of those songs already, soundboard recordings. given the fact that many of your fans have already become used to the concert variations of the songs, i propose that is a bad idea to release any more of them. unless you just want to digitally distribute the original glasgow set for free through Bleep.com, thats a great idea PS. We love you :-) and let me alter what i said a little bit, Chenc9 is fantastic. If all the live set tracks were retooled to that extent and given new homes inside new tracks that would be awesome. that's a good point that's exactly 68:00 as i remember, and when i cut it up into distinct sections it was 11 tracks (burnt it for a friend)... i think you might be on to something. i thought the exact same thing when i was first told of the 2nd disc, BUT in a recent interview i saw of sean he says he would never release the live show cause he thinks its 'milking it' like i said on myh previous post, by putting 2 tracks from the set on the album i think he already did milk it@ but yeah i hope its not the soundboard recording and/or alive jam using lots of those songs as templates

i agree with this, i think if they were going to release it they should have just released it as a live show. they claiom doing that would be 'milking it' but i personally think thats ludicrious and what they've done onthe album by putting 2 bits of live shows imo is a muich better example of milking it. I like what they did with them, i just dont like them taken out of the context of the live set as much (sean booth himself said the reason they DONT release live shows is because he doesnt like them taken out of context, however it seems hes doing somehting to even take them out of context more than that would have done)

i like how in that Barcode mag interview they say how chris clarke and jackson and his computer band and boring but give a slight praise to Burial while still saying its overhyped. out of these 5 tracks i'd say fwze is my least favorite so far,but its definitely hard to give it a real listen on such low quality
