  1. i like that mix, are these all tracks by the same guy? can we get a playlist if not also has anyone heard of this amazing new dubstepish EP by Funckarma - Dubstoned EP1 here is preview of all the tracks http://highpointlowlife.com/downloads/func..._dubsnippet.mp3
  2. yeah CD2 is the only one ive heard, its pretty good for what it is lots of nice FM sounds uncharacteristic of dubstep. i dont like 'guest mc' albums i find them rather shit most of the time and very inconsistent. i have to agree, he is possibly one of the most overhyped dubstep artists with the least substance and creativity. i like this friend Scuba better, but even that guy is going downhill, his older stuff was good proper dub music. that's sad that not only do you like music autotuned to shit with stolen acapellas from mtv pop artists you somehow think he's representative of dubstep
  3. i totally agree with everything said here. His early stuff sounds very metal but it sounds absoltuely nothing like Entity. Truth be told i mentioned scorn again just for provocative wound reopening fun, i didnt seriously mean what i said.
  4. wait hae u heard Sabbath Dubs? i actually lost that 7", i might buy it again (cause i smoke weed) i have to say Sabbath dubs is supremely underrated. people wrote it off as some gimmicky shit but if you actually listen to both songs fully they are really fucking good and have kind of classic dub spring reverb way about them.
  5. collab with who might i ask? just downloading now eager to check it out!
  6. you mean its made full circle back to scorn's few discs of dub/metal stuff? (*ducks) just kidding ill check this out sounds interesting
  7. do you forget that a lot of classic dub and reggae music also uses the 4 on the floor beat as well? Not to say that the Ariel album isnt techno influenced but i think that the 4 on the floor sound as evokes a dub beat as well as a techno one in a certain context
  8. i've been getting really into the Geoim album Island Noise recently. Its production leaves a lot to be desired but the composition and melodic structure far exceeds most dubstep Lps out (not some minimalist wobbly bullshit the whole time). here is one pretty good very melodic track- http://www.bleep.com/player.php?track=BRKCD001_DM-02 Nat /we kill soapscum recommended Cardopusher's newest ep on Terminal dusk and itsquite excellent, i like how its a glitchy take on dubstep but totally different from boxcutter my favorite dubstep track at the moment cardopusher = http://www.bleep.com/player.php?track=TD007_DM-03 sorry if both of these were jazzbands in this thread. best dubstep at the moment besides the Ariel album ive also been getting into this glitchy dub producer named Disrupt who seems to take more from classic dub like lee perry than the overshadowing dub electronic scene (monolake, dead beat, etc)
  9. Severed Heads - Adenoids 5x12" lp set (just playing it nonstop dont know what track its on)
  10. for me a lot of the problems with dubstep and most other dance genres is you find like 1 great track from an artist out of every 5 throw-away tracks they make. The most consistently good dubstepish producers ive heard to date are Lich, 2562, and Bass Cleff. Most of their songs are very well done
  11. Underwater dancehall instrumental by Pinch was pretty decent i think, i prefer it to stuff like Benga and Burial, never heard any peverelist, but yeah the 2562 album imo is the most solid dubstep-ish LP produced to date, i not trying to be too original but its very solid and hits the right notes and beats in all the right places, production is very clean and good. thanks for the recommendations i will check those out You should def check out Peverelist if you like 2562, two of my favorite producers at the moment. ive only heard two of his singles, and the only song ive liked was 'infinity is now' . its pretty good would like to hear more stuff of his also just heard some early Benga/skream split eps, jesus christ this is significantly better than what either are making now. I like some of benga's stuff, but i honestly think mags like the Wire praising Afro warrior as genius is one of the most extreme examples of confusing wine with water i've ever seen. pretty good track ive been digging on lately macabre - unit-dreamer_(bonus_track) off of Horror Show Promo. i wish more dubstep and grime was this colorful/playful
  12. jesus christ macabre unit is pretty intense! i like it a lot
  13. Underwater dancehall instrumental by Pinch was pretty decent i think, i prefer it to stuff like Benga and Burial, never heard any peverelist, but yeah the 2562 album imo is the most solid dubstep-ish LP produced to date, i not trying to be too original but its very solid and hits the right notes and beats in all the right places, production is very clean and good. thanks for the recommendations i will check those out
  14. Try Benga. If u don't like - give up and try instrumtental Grime instead - like the Joker EP on Bleep  besides that ep what else is considered instrumental grime? i think me likes instrumental grime generally better than dubstep, seems to be less predictable with less wobble if you know what i mean
  15. honestly i think you should give up, because imo those are 2 of the most interesting artists doing things within dubstep right now. alot of people say Ital tek and Benga are in the same league, i personally dont find them super exciting but still decent. i have to beg to differ that this is less generic, while it is a well mixed great selection of dubstep its the pretty standard plodding predictable affair.
  16. are the lyrics of that song saying that its basically a mockery of chav faggery? maybe a misunderstanding.
  17. it is pretty damn enjoyable, been listening to it today myself.
  18. burial to my ears has a lot more in common with 2step than dubstep
  19. same, im surprised more people arent loving Range 3 the best it has a lot of the untilted tour 2005 bits that never show up anywhere else Same here. Much as I've loved a lot of Autechre's music, I do reckon if Clark put that track out everyone would rip it to shreds. I don't care who released this, it sucks There are a lot of experimental artists who have released better ambient tracks you either like it or you dont, but the point still remains that an awful lot of AE fans who aren't accustomed to this style of minimalist music will try MUCH harder to force themselves to like it than they would a random artist. Not necessarily a bad effect, if Autechre can cause someone to appreciate minimalist ambient for the first time in their lives i think thats honestly a good thing.
  20. lol, I'm going to need at least 4 good BMs to prep myself LOL, best typo ever
  21. lol, its going to take a lot more than 2 bowels to get me to listen to this track in full if they wont release it then someone is going to have to steal it, trample over that british little bitch whos like 'thats very bad wha you doing thatis illegal' would have sworn, years ago, i read an interview where sean was pretty much well saying they didn't care if people stole their music. he said something to the effect of "we already have all the money we'll ever need." guess folks CAN change their minds... and i guess with torrents, etc. file "sharing" is everywhere, so maybe they noticed a dent in their bottom line. my quaristice live set 'embarassing cause its too mainstream sounding' theory i think is still very much valid. Autechre dont want to do anything too normal because they are afraid to , so instead they'd rather shit out some 'abstract' jams and call it a day while hiding their amazing 2008 quaristice live set in the shadows.
  22. if they wont release it then someone is going to have to steal it, trample over that british little bitch whos like 'thats very bad wha you doing thatis illegal'
