  1. What's the reference to deco loc? Just vaguely similar title?
  2. It was TDR, and Joyrex confirmed. What's all this fuss about?
  3. Hey I never said Exai was too long, I think it's phenomenal. After I've given it time to sit, I am tempted to say it's my favourite album thus far.
  4. Back to speculation, I hope it's 4x 15 + minute tracks of the caliber of surripere.
  5. ITT: we discuss Exai and beer
  6. I came in here to make a joke about Rob going to the zoo and seeing an elephant and then getting pumped up and writing an EP about it but I'm a few posts late for that now-stale joke.
  7. Antichamber. Was on sale for $10 on steam (sorry, back to $20 now) and it is an awesome game. It's basically portal on acid.
  8. Listening to Oversteps today and qplay is definitely the brother of T ess xi
  9. I helped my buddy move yesterday and he has no need for his crazy good surround sound speaker set up so he let me borrow it for a few months. This shit is like 5000% better than my previous shitty $80 logitech speakers. I'm sitting here blasting Exai at what I'm sure is a somewhat unsafe level for my ears and it's fucking amazing.
  10. On the topic of FLeure and openers, it seems to me that more often than not Ae's openers are not a reflection of what the album will sound like at all. The only one that particularly seems to do that is LCC, but thinking back every other album's opener is starkly different than the rest of the album.
  11. Jatevee C sounds like a hot shower. I play it in my head every time I get in the shower. I wish my bathroom had a speaker that would automatically start playing Jatevee C every time I got into the shower.
  12. I bought an original SNES controller online, as well as a SNES to USB adapter. I've been using it to play through the Donkey Kong Country series over the past week or so, and let me tell you.
  13. proto-runrepik starting @ around the 34 minute mark or so. nice catch! the melody/atmospherics definitely seem to be rooted in the same thing if not the very same. the beat has changed a lot though...which makes me notice what about runrepik i don't much like, and a lot of it is the drums and the effects of the melody...just seems a bit too much. i don't remember if i ever heard this set, gonna have to give the full thing a listen soon. This set is amazing. I forgot how good it was. Not sure I ever had the patience to listen to it before but I'm so glad I have now.
  14. Bike Montreal Clipper Cipater 777 Netlon Sentinel Sim Gishel Surripere Iera Perlence Range 7 Treale Y7 Cloudline Yeah I used EP7 and MoT but they are both LPs in my mind.
  15. My so called life is pretty much all around good, highlights being sound burglar and Aaron2
  16. I love the blurry fusion between 4 notes that occurs exactly at 2:43 in spl9. In context, it's got this implied melody in the last 4 notes (established at 2:21) that you know should play out but instead it gets fused into fm noise and is really indistinguishable. Hopefully you can tell the two notes I'm talking about. This does my head in every time. They play around in this domain with a few chunks of the track, having melodies fizzle away and become implied melodies with only trace remnants leftover. Love this effect.
  17. I found all the Jap tracks that weren't live recordings felt like they belonged. Medrey, Nu nr6d, Xekstes Sql (not much there but meh) and ClnChr. They all seemed to fit. This one fits as well, although I still like Medrey and Nu nr6d more for some reason.
  18. I caught myself humming the melody from nodezsh and it was in that moment I realized how amazing it really is. If that track hasn't clicked with you yet, give it another listen and focus entirely on the melodies in the first half before it morphs into sheer terror. Lots of half-octave jumps and fun stuff like that. (Check around 2:22 for the exact melody I'm talking about)
  19. Flep is really doing my head in now. The crazy flanged-to-fuck reverby stuff that keeps popping up in between the beats is just so creepy and airy.
  20. I highly advise a really baked walk in the woods to this album. It was terrifying and amazing at the same time. Perfectly suited the album.
  21. So I did my stoned-as-all-hell walk in the woods last night. I walked to the start of the path into the woods, smoked a huge bowl and started the album. FLeure was fun although once the track fell away the fear started to set in. Like what if there is a bear, because I totally would not hear it at all until it was eating my guts. I pondered turning around but decided to continue. By the time irlite was on I was very afraid and looking around everywhere. When prac-f came on I started to feel a bit more comfortable. By Jatevee C I realized I was being paranoid and the forest wasn't dangerous and that was pretty blissful. By t ess xi I realized I had to piss really badly so did so but I was so high I put my dick away before shaking and leaked quite a lot of piss in my pants. By the time vekoS was playing I was full on stomping and marching through the woods. Then Flep came on as I came to a very long boardwalk across a swamp. I shambled robotically to the rhythm. Tuinorizn was another fun stomper, and Bladelores came on just as I was beginning to get lost. 1 1 is marked the point where the pink sky began to turn pitch black but I was about an hour into the woods and totally lost anyways so I wasn't getting out of there soon. I smoked another fat bowl and when nodezsh came on I began to become afraid again. Like nocturnal predators might be coming out now, like wolves or something. They would all probably be hungry. Then I almost ran smack into a deer and only noticed it a few feet away. I pulled out my flashlight and its eyes lit up freaking me out. I backed away because I couldn't tell if it was a deer or a wolf. I decided I would break into a full on run when runrepik came on (for obvious reasons) and that was pretty intense. I had resolved to stop running at cloudline but spl9 surprised me somehow and so I decided I had to continue running for spl9. Some point around this time I found my way onto a main trail. When cloudline came on I was on a very long perfectly straight path all the way to my house, but decided to march slowly in the snowbank off to the side because of the pacing. for deco Loc nothing particularly interesting. Recks on had me back into the suburbs and YJY UX had me fondly remembering my experience. I passed by the first school I ever attended when keyosc was playing which made me remember those days. Then I got home and my feet hurt like motherfuck. And that's why I don't do psychedelics anymore.
  22. So I'm going to get higher than I've been in at least 3 months tonight and take a walk in the snowy woods at night and listen to Exai. Might be fun, might be terrifying, might be both. Will certainly be dark as all hell. I'm so psyched. My version of tripping on psychedelics since I can't even think about handling mush or cid anymore.
  23. No, it was saying "This is IDM" or "Dick's, Eat em" but I can't tell which
