Actually I'd been playing games since the late 80s so I'd been raised to believe that actually enjoying yourself thru entertaining mechanics & systems was more interesting than 30 minute long cutscenes every 15 steps that eventually devolve into "you're playing a video game, lol!"

Yeah, breaking the 4th wall was novel for video games at the time of MGS2's release, but it's a terrible stealth game lacking anything resembling fun. The fact that you were 12 when you played it explains why you thought it was so clever.

The fact that they're mediocre stealth games with terrible controls and hilariously poorly written anime storylines that lack any form of subtlety, pacing, editing, or restraint are decent enough reasons not to play them.

Finished sense8. It kept getting better for the second half of the season. Excellent show. Recommendation still stands.

Just finished the 6th episode of Sense8. It's really, really good. It's got the best of Wachowski style & philosophies and the production quality is stellar. Plot is engaging, all the characters are believable & well acted. Highly recommended!

I've actually heard great things about Blunt Talk. Been meaning to check it but it doesn't pop up in the EZTV new addition feed so I keep forgetting. Just started watching Sense8. Intriguing so far. 1 episode deep not enough to assess plot quality but Wachowski stylishness is there in full force.

I definitely watched season 1 out of plot curiosity and not because it was particularly funny. No real laugh out loud moments until the last 2 eps when they're at that convention. Season 2 had way more, way better jokes. The whole thing still seems to be that awkward cringe style of comedy like British Office, which isn't really my cup of tea, but at this point I like the supporting characters enough to keep watching. @fenton re: Mr. Robot

John Erlichmann is a paid corporate shill for Monster Energy Drinks enacting an online campaign to spread FUD about the market dominant (and obviously superior) energy drink brand by discrediting their noble efforts to improve & drastically support the dance music scene. Yep, very disappointing. It's the reason I don't do it any more. Last "molly" I took at a show I had a ridiculous headache all night and was up for 24 hours and decided I'd rather just smoke some blunts and drink a coffee and leave it at that. I don't even fuck with acid any more for the same reason... you have NO idea what you're getting. Some research chemical bullshit. Just shrooms and weed these days because I can tell with my eyes that I got what I intended.
