  1. I never expected to read a comment on a new PJ album on watmm. But now that we're here... yeah, worst PJ album by far. The drums sound like garbage, and the vocal treatment is horrific. I don't think I can stomach another listen. So weird how much praise this one is getting, considering how awful it sounds. I actually think the majority of their albums up until now have been great, and this one's a blemish in an otherwise remarkably consistent track record. No idea what they were thinking ditching Brendon O'Brien for this Watt guy. Utter madness. The first couple songs did sound like they'd probably be incredible live. Maybe if I could get past the production I'd enjoy some of the songs.
  2. My brain often does this thing where it'll give me a dumb song title or band name that will amuse me more than it should. it occurred to me to start looking them up and see what that theoretical song/band sounds like in practice. Stinkhammer was not bad.
  3. I haven't made any money from streaming, but I don't care about that at all. Only thing I care about is people hearing it. There's a site called submithub where you can pitch songs to various playlists. You have to pay for credits, and then use those credits to submit (amounts to anywhere from $1-$4 a submission-ish). For my most recent album, released late February, I've had songs make it onto 27 different playlists, and as a result about half of the songs have 100-300 streams so far. Previous album had a couple songs that did reasonably well. One has over 3000 streams, another over 6000. That's substantially more listens than all my songs put together from past releases, where I might get 15 album downloads from bandcamp and a comparable amount of streams. So as much as I hate to say it, I can't help but be grateful for Spotify. I'd feel differently if I were actually successful in music and had a shot at making money from these platforms.
  4. I hate that Spotify playlists are the only semi-effective thing I've found for getting my music to a wider audience in my 20+ years of trying. The idea of making money through streaming or selling CDs/vinyl/etc. has not been part of what I've considered possible for most of that time. So while I recognize Spotify is evil, I also recognize that it's the only platform that's been all that useful for me as a relatively unknown artist.
  5. Is there a term for this style of video? Cringe porn?
  6. This is the track that always springs to mind for me off that album too. Such a good album. His production went to shit starting with Filth Pig. I think Al's lost most of the high frequencies in his hearing. Everything up until Psalm 69 sounded fantastic.
  7. I wonder who his influences are. I'm getting Kid Rock, Black Crowes, Beat It by Michael Jackson, maybe some Flea in the bass line. AI has come a long way.
  8. This is the first vid I've posted that youtube seems to be actively promoting. Not sure why. Maybe the algorithm saw shots of laptop screens and got aroused.
  9. Thanks mang! Not enough people listen to physical releases for me to justify making physical releases at this point in time. I'd be surprised if I could sell more than 15 CDs/vinyls. But there is a video for every song on this album. Well, all but one. But it's on the way. Thanks a lot! Knowing it's valued that highly by a few people motivates me to continue releasing stuff. (I'd keep creating regardless.)
  10. this description.kind of makes me want to hear it. i've oft dreamed of a sort of music that combines ass mixed with farts.
  11. Lip syncing to my own song in the snow with TV glitch effects passing through my body and sky, as you do.
  12. Thanks for listening! I will buy some liquorice with that hard earned money.
  13. Footage taken from the short film Shape by Taik Koo Wang (1971) which artfully depicts scenes and architecture of Vancouver. The 8mm footage was discovered by someone in a Value Village. Good find!
  14. Avant-pop, industrial rock, IDM blend EXTREME. Not actually that extreme though. Bandcamp, spotifhy and video link below. More videos to come, to be posted here too. Erratic Ecstatic by The Municipality
  15. I've made 8 music vids for the album I just released, and plan on making them for the 2 remaining. This is probably my best work in terms of video making. Definitely some David Lynch influence.
  16. ahh this takes me back. i was actually pretty good at Q1 death match. the introduction of the railgun made q2 far too intimidating to get into. there'd always be some rail savant killing me instantly upon respawn, with years of experience on me. dope. i like how the beat gives the impression of being odd meter even though it isn't.
