You're not wrong! They are better than the rest. They're certainly less greedy than the competition. But I mean, they don't have to try very hard for that. -

Haha... trying to figure out why this bugs me so much. My conclusion is that it seems like a feeble attempt to appear generous in a time of crisis, but it's really not that generous at all. Just a PR stint to make themselves look good. The irony is I'd probably respect them more if they simply did nothing. -

The one day a month thing is weird. They're teasing us! (I just posted about it in the SFWP... especially stupid FWP because it isn't technically a problem... except in my brain.) -
Their songwriting and production has improved quite a bit. Impressed.

The bandcamp revenue share waiving for one day per month is weird. It's nice of course, better than not doing it... but it's like they're just teasing us. How are we supposed to convince a bunch of people to buy our shit on those days specifically? It's just a weird promo. I don't like it! I got all my shit on there for free anyway, basically.

Product links are fine. Never a bad idea to use headphones for fine tuning the details of a mix after you've got it sounding solid in the monitors. It's useful for making things in the stereo field a bit more "3D" sounding, I've found... although I used to do most mixing with headphones, and there was a lot more focus on how WIDE everything was as a result. What was going on right down the centre suffered a bit for it, but the left/right big/small action sure was interesting at times.

Going between my Audiotechnicas and my KRK KNS-8400s gives me a pretty broad sense of how a mix will come across on a wide variety of systems. If The bass isn't way out of control in the KRKs, but still kicking ass in the AT's, it's a great bass mix that isn't going to be muddying things up. Basic point being, it's good to have a couple decent pairs of headphones whose sonic characteristics are quite different. I use monitor-monitors too of course (and car stereo). Both the ATs and KRKs are excellent headphones that I highly recommend (and probably already have in here).

I enjoyed it. Lots of good dialogue, the relationship dynamics between the different characters is interesting. Laughed out loud a few times. The crude drawing style gives it a unique flavour. I'm in. It's like a lo-fi Bob's Burgers.

Alright, putting on the first ep.

I've noticed a pattern of emoticon solidarity in reply reactions. 1 burger tends to lead to multiple burgers, 1 Farnsworth tends to lead to multiple Farnsworths, and so on, and so on. Also popular is the emoticon rainbow, where you get 1 of each - also an act I believe of poster solidarity. I view this as an unconscious reaction to the absence of the rolling lol.
-
I thought of Bob's Burgers immediately when you said Home Movies... so i think I've probably seen some episodes? Will have another look at some point.

Hmmm. It was a 2014 article, so I reckon there's a good chance he grew disenchanted with the whole thing and gave up. Really sad story tbqh.

episodic. There's probably a few self-references here and there, but you definitely don't need to watch in sequence. I'm realizing now there are many episodes I haven't see, which is quite exciting! Hard to go wrong with any of them really, but Murder Outside the Box stands out in my memory, The Metalocalypse Has Begun is amazing... I'm realizing now some of the episodes do connect. Fuck it, watch it all in sequential order - it'll be worth your time. I'll do the same.

That does sound like an apple I could eat. OH. And I can't believe I didn't think of the Apple Pear when auxien mentioned pears. It is neither an apple nor pear... and is in fact better than either. Didn't even find out about them until maybe 5 years ago. ....actually sounds a bit like your description of "Honeycrisp". I'm wondering if it's a different name for the same thing, depending on region. It's almost and apple. Almost a pear. But neither...
