New countdown, new release? [Aphex Twin Warp Store]
kirm replied to Time Tourist's topic in Aphex Twin
It would have fit on the CD easily, maybe technical limitations for the vinyl tracklist + personal preference for aisatsana? I don't know, just guessing obviously.I assumed it meant he didnt finish it in time due to technical & personal reasons? Anyhow its lovely so nice to hear it in the end! -
Yeah suprised theres not more hype for this. Really does feel like a new proper (and really goood!) Afx album now

about 20 unheard new tracks, just look for em yourself, if you click tracks it has "new" next 2 emCCAI2 also has a new track, don't miss that one thanks Ooze;;; but, some of the "new" tracks are from SC dump, so they are not new without the sc dump, korg tunings or field day lp i still count about 20 new trxxx Think its getting on for 30 excluding dump tracks.. but yeah you can see them and stream them to check for your self! ;) -

No you're not alone. It's just that when horses smell blood and the dust gets kicked up, you have to get out of the way. RDJ is following in the great British tradition started by Led Zeppelin whereby you get folks to buy your albums 2,3,4,n times with the addition of new content each time. You could probably find 7-10 instances of "Black Dog" in my parents' house from my dad being a completist. It happened with Analord once already and dollars to donuts, it's about to go down again. Once I saw my basket going north of $100, I backed out until I could be sure that I would indeed "cherish" everything. Someone clocked over $220 also? That's good gear money. You could just get a Monologue at that point but there is a posh streak here in Aphex fandom that I have noticed lately. It's no thing for them to drop that kind of cash. I decided to put my $100-200 towards a REV2 and wait and see what tracks emerge that I truly couldn't live without. I know the Sound Cloud versions are different and "not so good for the ears" with the nulls and all but I'm OK with that. Alright, ignore and resume blood lust The new tracks are free to stream, so you can hear them all. You don't have to re-buy the albums if you just want to buy the tracks. You can buy the extras you like and not buy those you don't. Hard to complain when you can stream everthing for free (and after all the soundcloud free stuff!) but I do get it a bit as want to get everthing but costs do then rack up! Be nice to have a "all new stuff" bundle for reasonable price Though am loving the bits ive bought and enjoying streaming the rest. Think I will get ICBYD next.. always been my fav afx album and its just got even better!! Its the albums with like one extra track (but the possibilty of more) that are giving me a headache! But its a lovely problem to have so big up to the ginger one X -

Thanks for sharing the clarification Davie. Loving the new Tuss tracks! Not had chance to digest much else yet And also in a quandary about best buying strategy.. Bought field day and Rushup Edge but not sure how to go about the rest to get maximum benefit! -
Yeah some really good tracks from both sides in that war, For me think Dot slightly coming out on top.

New countdown, new release? [Aphex Twin Warp Store]
kirm replied to Time Tourist's topic in Aphex Twin
agreed my interpretation of that is that anyone buying the aphex store releases will get any tracks added to those releases in the future. i don't necessarily expect regular bleep releases to get updated (even though they should) but we'll see Yeah thats what I took it to mean.. but hopefuly not! Will wait and see -

Elseq dropped with no real hype or notice.. I think its kind of the point of the bleep stores. So bleep store could still mean new "album" -
Yeah easy one of the best of grime albums ever and one of my fav albums of any genre this year. Wiley really is the godfather, one of the most important british artists of recent times. https://youtu.be/gcroTw04i-w

Nice recording, Very good work!:) Having said that though this set is crying out for a soundboard. Really hope they get a recording they are happy with. Think the chances are good they will but trying not to get my hopes up too much incase they don't!
-
This is so good.. think I may even prefer it to Severant but time will tell. Think he does Rolly porter stylee better than Rolly Porter on the 2nd half!

Only had one listen but sounded immense was a little bit disappointed by his last ep it had the quality sound design but felt like it was missing something.. this album very much has that something back! So much quality music out the last couple of weeks :)

http://thequietus.com/articles/20970-leyland-james-kirby-interview-the-caretaker :'( Good interview, really interested to hear the later stages when they come out and see how it will all tie together. Also some of the other stuff he is working on sound like they are going to be very interesting, so dont think we need to be to sad about the death of The Caretaker..- 262 replies

I would say I don't give my final opinion till I've listened in a range of ways.. in fact I never give my final opinion on music am always open to my thoughts and feeling towards stuff changing But like if I was some critic reviewer guy I would listen to it in the largest range of ways possible before writing up my review..
