  1. I'm currently reading a book that talks about this actually. "Gas-par de Carvajal, a Dominican friar who accompanied Orellana, described woman warriors in the jungle who resembled the mythical Greek Amazons. Half a century later, Sir Walter Raleigh spoke of Indians with “their eyes in their shoulders, and their mouths in the middle of their breasts”—a legend that Shakespeare wove into Othello: And of the Cannibals that each other eat, The Anthropophagi, and men whose heads Do grow beneath their shoulders." they're called the antipodes, correct?
  2. yep. that fight scene with benny the jet went down in history when kung fu magazine rated it the best choreographed. also, how attractive was lola forner? i really miss when they were a trio and were doing these fun-action comedies. oh my yes - only realising now that she was also in Armor of God (and Project A, althought i cant picture her in it) I guess Jackie's skills were too good to hide behind a 3-man operation, tis' a shame there aint more of them tho
  3. Snake in the eagle's shaddow - Pretty much Drunken Master/10 (which is amazing) Wheels on Meals - Wacky Jackie comedies are always great/10 has one of the best back and forth fights i've seen in a Chan film
  4. i feel this is the face of the man that lives inside us all...

  6. i realllllllly liked Holy Mountain which was a surprise after realllllllllly disliking El Topo going to watch Santa Sangre next, i hear its his best
  7. I was the same, saw clips on TV when I was younger, but having seen it recently enough on a good HD copy...was a bit let down, not so good, al.
  8. dear lord, i don't think its possible for any human to look sarcastically to the left with their eyes after every little sentance any more then she does in her videos
  9. The Toxic Avenger - good fun/10! some nicely shocking scenes of ultra-violence and lovely bits of nudity - decent exploitation flick, albeit a parody of itself and sometimes makes this too obvious at times, there are some nice bits to it.
  10. do yourself a favor and check out 'Pom Poko', (if you haven't already) it's not a Miyazaki, but it is Studio Ghibli powerful powerful film, changed my life...or at least it had a vast impact on me I just finished watching this, but I have to say, it was a bit disappointing. Sure it was funny, but I feel like the message was better told in Princess Mononoke, it wasn't so ham-fisted. Now watching Nausicaa. to be honest, i had taken a small dose of the ole' LSD prior to its viewing...having said that, I feel the final moments of the film is powerful stuff, where (SPOLIER AHEAD) the Raccoon, who has lost his way and has taken on the human form, is on the train and is looking around and seeing human existence in all its depressive bleakness, when he suddenly spots a fellow raccoon and follows him - thus rediscovering what life truly is about, being happy and not being locked down to such a silly monotonous existence ...then again, that could of been the acid talking

  12. Where did you see it? at the cinema. it came out last week or the week before i think . did you see it ? i even thought the trailer looked ok but the movie was seriously bad, like when a comedy programme makes a parody of an art film . It does kind of stick in your mind in a weird way tho but man what a totally embarrasing piece of shit. I can tell you're not a Malick fan...would you have known of his past work before going in to see it? I saw it earlier today...kind'a liked it... definitely over-stays its welcome, but its not allllll that bad...can defo understand why people would dislike it... but yea, it is what it is, a Malick film, every frame has his watermark on it (usally in the form of a sun-flare) Its sort of a poor'er second part to 'Tree of Life' with less action (dare i use that word) - carries on the same sort of vibe but no, i thought it was 'nice' and i didn't leave disappointed, so yea...that's that.
  13. Is this an ad for the next episode of Black Mirror...?

  15. oh my, lovey stuff boys music video me and a friend did for my other mate's band
  16. true, but at least it was all shot on emulsion and wasn't 'done in post' - all the locations etc. are real - so fair play to him/them for the effort - i can image if it was made today it'd turn into a worse film and be 90% digital effects *edit* actually, that opening sequence with the train is worth 2 sequential hours of boredom
