  1. It's just refreshing in it's depressive edge - exploring the life of an artist, and in the grand scheme of things - the theme of what it is to exist. not a film for intimidate satisfaction, but a grower, a thinker and a re-watcher...can't say i was 'blown away' when i saw it first, but since then it's been in my thoughts and am eagerly awaiting a re-watch whenever it comes around
  2. Symbol (2009) Mixing a beautifully told story about an aging Lucha Libre wrestler and his son in Mexico and a seemingly un-related story about man trapped in an all but blank room, surrounded by hundreds of baby penises. Just watch it/10 http://youtu.be/C6U3fT2SBtI
  3. [youtubehd]GiaRp0M2fxE[/youtubehd] How lovely - refreshing to watch a Docu like that which doesn't have a silly twist at the end...was expecting for it to suddenly cut to some British lad and have him introduce himself as William great music, an enigma of our time
  4. The Man Who Fell To Earth Some really neat and trippy'tastic imagery here and it looks absolutely gorgeous on bluray, but it all goes on a tad' too long while maintaining a rather confusing story line - wanted to love it, but it kept me distant. Naked Bowie is not so good/10
  5. went to the cinema today, did the ole' naughty pay for 1 ticket, hang around and see X more films thing... Wolf of Wallstreet Definitely entertaining. Strong cast. Funny moments. Just over stays it's welcome...Jonah Hill, never liked him anything, until this - really does a great job - Scorsese has made a modern Joe Pesci out of him Out of the Furnace Pretty prettttty pretty bad. You can see they're going for a message about the right to kill etc. etc. but it's just really really poorly executed and a waste of time watching it Inside Llyen Davis Pretty good. Will need a future viewing to fully digest and discuss it, but nothing bad to say. Quite underplayed, but effective.
  6. Cape Fear (1991) It may be too long, but boy is there some neat stuff in this film! Great cast, and lovely utilisation of previous cast members from the original film. Deniro's deadly. Powerful score. Fun cinematography. A forgotten gem perhaps. (was funny seeing this after o-so many viewings of the Simpsons parody episode with Sideshow Bob.)
  7. Oh Lordie, Margot Kidder it too attractive as Lois Lane in those films...shes so fertile and spunky with that 'strong independant woman' vibe.
  8. made a new music video for Girl Band. Did some crazy VHS tape manipulation to get all the effects...we talkin' analog style. (juicy bits occur from 4:12 on)
  9. no love for Raising Arizon? Boy I love that film. A screwball comedy with whacky over the top acting and ridiculous set-pieces, all topped off with a great cast. What's not to love? no love for Raising Arizon? Boy I love that film. A screwball comedy with whacky over the top acting and ridiculous set-pieces, all topped off with a great cast. What's not to love?
  10. much fun, much happiness, much brilliant also special nod to the receding hair line video, much lols
  11. Forbidden Zone (meets Analord) watched Forbidden Zone on mute with vinyls 1 - 6 of AFX's Analord.......it was an experience to say the least don't think i'll ever be able to watch Forbidden Zone with its original sound ever again.
  12. Texas Chainsaw massacre 2 Really odd film in many senses - Toby Hooper returning to direct after 14 or 16 years, completley changing the tone of the film from gritty, proto-found footage to almost cartoon like black comedy, and where he had cleverly hidden the gore in the first film here he displays it to an ultra-violent level. It goes back and forth between genuinely cool and then naff exploitation flick, usually on purpose but sometimes you question otherwise... Woman wearing friends face on her face/10 tis' pretty funny how they re-made the Breakfast Club poster:
  13. Klown Pretty good! Perhaps It's because I went in with zero expectations, and had no idea the route it would take - very funny and entertaining, felt like an extended episode of Curb with the jewish context replaces with Danish...tis' on Netflix
  14. Kickass ...pleasantly surprised! Very enjoyable, indeed. Daily dose of Cage/10
  15. yea, fair play man - I saw it on /Film : http://www.slashfilm.com/kung-fury-trailer-kung-fu-robots-nazis-dinosaurs-vikings-mutants-and-gods-in-one-movie/ well deserved indeed
  16. It's based on a true story of an event that happened at a Kentucky McDonald's Back in the 2000s. indeed! Tis' mad reading up on it - seems the prank caller in question was never actually charged with anything (lack of evidence i think) which is insane when you see that...
  17. Compliance Pretty solid - does what it sets out to do in a well paced manner. V.interesting subject matter. Body cavity check/10
  18. dang... ya know, I couldn't help myself and looked up the origin of that video - interestingly and cooly' enough that same music was used in the original video...except not exactly during that scene but a scene just before it
