  1. Booker T's the man http://youtu.be/JptPWIkUUIk?t=9m12s start at 9:12 http://youtu.be/JptPWIkUUIk
  2. Nice! thanks for this not sure i saw this somewhere on WATMM or i just stumbled onto it on youtube yesterday, but this is also purty' sweet:
  3. Leviathan 2012 Went to see this in the cinema yesterday, last showing ever...power cut 25mins in! However, it did seem to be an extremely interesting and unique documentary - definitely not for the faint'film fan at heart in terms of its Art House qualities - for example it has scenes where the camera stays on a fishing net in the rough seas for about 8minutes...awesome! will download and watch further/10
  4. Ooo, great rec! Sounds good - I shall try catch this on bluray! Body Double 2 in a row, DePalma does it again! Greaaat film! One might dare to say Hitchcock done post-modern style - oozes Vertigo and Rear Window, but adds some much welcomed sex and violence - beautifully paced and plotted out, great cinematic language, top characters and a fun ride the whole way through. Bit of a gem really.
  5. man, i really don't get this overwhelming hate for Room 237.......i liked it!
  6. Femme Fatale Pretty good! DePalma is as stylish as always, it all absolutely zips along, entertaining the whole way - some really nice camera work and editing tricks - felt like it could have been written by Pedro Almodavar at times, which is always a great thing - pity it falls apart towards the end...also Rebecca Romijn is just too fucking hot Rebecca's side boob/10
  7. The Wages of Fear Preeetty cool - takes a while to get going, but once it does its great - loveable, and love to hate'able characters, nail biting scenes, great sound design - a classic not to be missed FIN/10
  8. big up Crossbows and Catapults - what a game...still have it tucked away, but missing a few bits and in need of some TAUGHT' bands - might even re-buy it if she aint too expensive Scotland Yard is a great game! You always think it'll be impossible to catch Mr.X - but i've yet to play a game where he wasn't caught Me and a buddy created our own board game - it's a mix of a load of games - 1 person plays as 'the monster' the rest as the humans, humans move less spaces than monster, you have lives, can pick up weapons, some weapons stronger than others, some heavier so you move slower, there's doors, theres objects you can push infront of doors to block them, theres chests you can open with keys etc. etc. it's fun but still rather crude - half thinking of proper developing it into a proto-demo model seem's to be upside down...not bothered fixing it (apologies for its size
  9. Eyes Wide Shut Never had watched it fully from start till finish - glad i finally did - great stuff, quite chillinggg, and Cruise was rather good! Kidman's legs+ass/10?
  10. Gravity Finally got to see this, in IMAX 3D and all, there's a lot of 'cool' thing about this film, but I really wasn't prepared for it to be so cheesy - pretty clunky dialogue and extreme exposition at times, but I think what made it all the worse was the over-powering score - dear lordie, it's comical at times, if they had peared it back and given it more of a minimal sound track i'd say it would have been the better film. The images and lighting alone conveyed so much atmosphere that the score just simply needed to support it, rather than turn up to 11.
  11. indeed there are, and what better way to spend money then on your well being. Mmm - it seem's they really like to flaunt all the A-list creative celebs who do it...and to be honest, not that i'd ever be one to be swung by such an insignificant things, but! David Lynch, Clint Eastwood, Martin Scorsese, Jerry Seinfeld...i do have quite alot of respect for these gentlemen, i'd like to think they're onto something...but who knows!
  12. Yo guys - what's everyones take on TM (Transcendental Meditation)? I see people have briefly spoken about it before, but i'd like peoples opinions on it the reason I ask - It seems I could do the course for €300, as opposed to €600 (i'm on job seekers allowance, so there is a discount) wondering if it's the best time to give it a try while I can take advantage of the cheaper rate? Or is it a waste of money? I'm fairly tempted...
  13. Thanks for everyone's thoughts - I just had my first 30 minute meditation attempt a while ago - it was nice. I just sat on the floor with the recording Skibby posted playing in the background - I think the talking helped distort my interpretation of time, as i'm someone who if I know an alarm will go off in X minutes i'm almost constantly expecting it, so it was good to fog that over one thing that was bothering me throughout the time - my sitting position, I was slightly agitated, wondering if it was the correct posture or if what I was doing was possibly harming my body etc. I'm a tall enough lad, 6'4 - i was sitting in the crossed lotus position (not the extreme one, the easier one) and once I got up after my time, my ankles we're prettty sore + my knee joints and parts of the leg. My back naturally slouches - might it be beneficial to sit against a flat wall? Or does anyone have any suggestions? (i saw someone mentioned laying on their back -but i'd prefer to try sit)
  14. i'm very tempted to start meditating and incorporate it into my daily schedule...just wondering if there is any difference in meditating at the beginning, half-way, late part of the day? In my head, i'd love to have it as an early morning thing I do after I wake up - but then i might still be so sleepy and tired that I'll just zone out to sleep rather then meditating...thoughts? Also - i live in the city and my bedroom has terrible noise cancellation from the busy streets outside - would it make sense to try have some ambience/white noise type sound playing in order to remove the distraction factor...or would it be beneficial in trying to develop a meditation 'callus'?
  15. The Return of the Living Dead (1985) Oh my! Watch this film right now if you have not, tis' the PERFECT Halloween treat! I was completely blown away by this - it's a gem in it's own right, and near perfect for what it's trying to do. Hilarious, sexy, schlocky and scary - what more can one ask for?! Linnea Quigley/10
  16. Altered States (1980) I had purposely avoided any synopsis or images related to this film after hearing briefly about it, and once I had seen 'The Devils', I knew Russel wouldn't disappoint - so i went in blind, and by golly by the end of it I could see! I kid, it's definitely an extremely interesting film, both thematically and visually - perhaps is strained a bit by the convoluted dialogue at times, and it feels like it repeats itself briefly, gets a bit 'cheesey' but i think that's just Russel. All in all - it's a welcomed mind fuck. Makes one want to buy an isolation tank and do some psychedelics/10
  17. Candyman This is a real odd one...I went in with low expectations and it instantly began to prove me wrong - lovely opening sequence, music by Philip Glass, decent pacing...but then it starts becoming one of the most inconsistent films i've ever seen . Some scenes would be shot beautifully, full of mood and a focused style, then it would suddenly cut to another scene which felt like it belonged in a late night 'straight to TV' movie. Lot of really cool things going for it, but just too inconsistent and possibly over convoluted for it's own good....nice to see a film from the 90s' trying to do something different in the mainstream horror movie franchise though worth a watch great score! http://youtu.be/3jjLMm7C2EY
  18. Let's Get Lost Second viewing, love it - really well made documentary about Chet Baker, Weber's relationship with Chet and his friends allows for an in depth look at the man, and perhaps goes too far deep in some cases - sometimes showcasing the man over the music too much, still great though http://youtu.be/emKvxsvzux0
  19. It's funny how up untill the final (let's say) 20 minutes of the film, it's probably one of the worst films going, but I think that's the point. Defo worth sticking it out - never been as pleasantly surprised as I was with this.
