  1. Treacle Jr reminds you that the most interesting people are those with a disadvantage to quote Guillermo Del Toro. The reverse domestic violence parts don't normally get shown on video. After watching the film, you have to ring the doorbell of a friend and ask to trim their bush whilst holding a pair of paper scissors.
  2. Calling other countries the third world still. How very first world of us.
  3. Best bestiality insinuation in a film ever though. I also felt like all my clothes were very under starched all the way through.
  4. Careful with the Pi 3, emulation is apparently okay with Retropie, but if your expecting flawless playback you might be disappointed. If you have a laptop that is half decent with hdmi out, I would'nt bother with the Pi.
  5. Shaky cam and Skrillex beats. Fuk dat. Blair Witch 2 one of my guilty pleasures, it nails that Full Moon 80s vibe with it's budget and cast.
  6. Saw the Game twice in the cinema when it was released. Apart from the ending which was very typical where the woman gets in the taxi. The bit where his brother Sean Penn says "Found myself laying naked on a beach in Ebisssa" I always thought that he pronounced it wrongly it's Ee-bee-tha. After looking at the script, it seems this changed from Spain to Ibiza during filming. Makes more sense being from there, Spain is not high brow enough for a Van Orton. Yours truly, Pedantic Twat (and Trainspotter)
  7. There is a film society in Birmingham if anyone is interested which I volunteer at. They are showing Charles Atlas' Turning tomorrow at 7pm at the LGBT place in the city centre at 7pm.
  8. Exodus on Kodi has it Mr Nottinghamcestershite.
  9. HAHAHA! Low one that. The line "Going up Brokeback" should be rewritten as "Going up Sloppyhand"
  10. Tobe Hooper's The Mangler is always on the Horror Channel.. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0113762/?ref_=nv_sr_1 It's got the best cog wheels ever seen on celluloid.
  11. Chappie made me feel ill. How Blomkamp got an Alien gig after that who knows?
  12. Thanks for the tip. Just about to put this one on. Faults was like a philosophical explanation of what free will is and how it can be warped without realising it. The scene with the Father and the Daughter in the same room was darker than Vanessa Del Rio's bumhole.
  13. Reverse engineered pierogi or polish noodles with cabbage and cottage cheese.
  14. After being hypnotised by Hush, watched Flanagan's Absentia which was a kickstarter funded film. Whilst crowdfunded projects can be a let down as the projects are built towards the backers wishes rather than the original intention. This film is ambiguous unlike so many recent horror films. Subwayportals/10
  15. Anyone seen Hush? Defo recommend it if you like Creep, Halloween, You're Next etc. Low budget horror that allows you to empathise with those hard of hearing by turning the sounds off.
  16. Was it a jewellery shop heist scene? My memory is hazy sometimes.
  17. The bank heist scene is almost as good as the Malcolm bank heist scene from 1986. Tom Selleck plays a good goodie don't he?
  18. Watched a load of 80s films on YouTube over the weekend. Couldn't stop. Deadly Intentions - 1985 TV film with Michael Biehn in fine form. Biehn was kicking ass in the 80s. This was unintentionally very funny just as Biehn plays a complete a-hole. It reminded me of those real life comic books autobiographical Clowes, Pekar, Matt etc Final Approach - carrying on my obsession with the female lead I watched this film from 1991, imaging at the end of 2001 a space odyssey the main character Dave being interrogated after his ascension into the abyss. Unbelievable I haven't seen this before. Dream Lover - this was so good in a dream like american goes to London and loses her marbles way. If you like Altered States, Dreamscape, Paperhouse and other dream sequence films go get your fix. From 1986. The Borrower - John McNaughton's follow up to Henry Portrait of a Serial Killer. Great prosthetic explosions as the main character is an Alien that likes to rip people's heads off. Had possibly one of the sadist sex scenes of all time off camera when the criminal tries to escape. Brilliant use of sound in this though. The Silence - recent German film - nothing original about this at all - was like an assembled mish mash of every other crime thriller made. Reminded me of a time when I cycled through Germany though and the countryside really stands out. Rural Germany chlorophyll to turn your eyes green. Also found that the YouTube plugin on Kodi let's you upgrade the video to the highest quality, the playback seems slightly better than in browser.
  19. RER Megacorp picked some good stuff years ago and
  20. 10 Cloverfield Lane - a bit like watching John Goodman on a toilet cam for 1 hour 40 mins. John let's one off at the end and there is a huge explosion. Sepiatintedphonepics/10
  21. Spring greens, jacket potato mash and cured pork shoulder. Snuffle says YES!
  22. The Witch was like Summer of the Red Wine but after the watershed only film late at night version. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chris_Finch he was great in it though.
  23. Philip Roth's A.P.E.X. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A.P.E.X. Took me back to a time when I would rent out b-movies from the video shop by the bucket load. Any film that starts with a robotic voice introduction is onto a winner, then add a paradox time line story, robots, fit wife, aggressive chief and subtle nuances to popular culture of the early 1990s then my eyes are staying for the duration. The 3D bits are dated but the headset could be a rival to the latest offerings this year. Early 1990s cinematography in it's 4:3 format can be quite jarring at times and the films can feel quite enclosed. It even has the graffiti tag "PHUQU" which made me laugh. OldLosAngelesPhuqU/10
  24. Maximum Overdrive was a film to be watched in the early hours of the morning, a couple of hours after midnight, when your mind slows down to really take in what is going on. USA at that time seemed to be the land of cult horror. The ending was nicked by Snyder in his Land of the Dead remake.
