yeah but think about it. ben or eliose or whoever doesnt want this bunch of yahoos knowing how to get to the island. so they basically string them some nonsense hen gas them and take them in the sub like before. doesnt seem that far fetched to me. ben needs jack but doesnt consider him part of his gang.

then i got thinking what if the whole thing has just been a dharma initiative test to see how gullible people were. i remember one of the vewing stations was for this purpose ins season 2 - watching someone else. in the last episode dr cheng comes out and gives them a certificate and tells them they are in hawaii

I dont think its a bad theory at all, the only problem is all the other stuff, like the random time travelling and the like

what we learned in the ep was cool, but the acting/dialogue was really quite bad i thought

i miss the old ms. hawking, the one who sort of skipped around the answer instead of blatantly telling us what's up.

she also says the island is always moving. i can't remember if she specified what she meant by that (time, or physically) - but what was the point in ben moving the island then?

the actor who plays desmond was totally unconvincing aswell.. his row at hawking/jack was lolworthy.

this ep actually ranks pretty high in the "er, wtf" meter - not because of the lolwut-LOSTmystery, but because of the dialogue.

jack, instead of seriously questioning where the fuck his nephew is, bangs kate

er, sun- where the hell is your child?

yo ben, why you bloody and bruised man? how nobody asked this is beyond me.

lol at jack NOT reading the letter until he was already on the plane... seriously.

why was sayid in cuffs? (apart from the whole "recreate the original 815 flight as best as possible thing" - seriously, give us an explanation as to why sayid was in cuffs lol) - and why would he be escorted to guam?

hurley's appearance at the airport is understandable i guess...no doubt charlie visited him

i thought their return to the island was a bit underwhelming aswell. i hope to god it was just the o6 (o5 + ben, really) that came to the island...if i have to deal with another plane crash/survivor group....nah.

Does anyone watch it with the knowledge they actually have, and not try and think about it to hard?

I Just watch it rather than think about it too much now becuase things seem to happen abit quicker(ish) than they used to anyway, so there is no point in thinking about theories that aint happening yet or ever gona happen.

i use the massive ad breaks to either poop, paint a masterpiece or read wild lost theories about aliens and shit

easy to recreate. every 2 minutes simply pause the playback and shout at the top of your lungs "BUY ME BUY ME" continuously for 5 minutes whilst hitting yourself in the head then return to seated position (ensure your tray table is in the upright position) and resume playback

I remember watching lost on Tv and being like 'NO WAI' every time t'were an adbreak now I just have cliffhangers with instant salvation.

It's like cumming without touching yourself.

yeah, i'm curious if the non-lostees on the plane will survive the crash as surrogates for the lostees that they couldn't get.

i'll bet money that one of them (probably the scruffy chicano) is a widmore plant.

i don't think the plane crashed, i think they just maybe flew through some kind of zone where the island was and got sucked up in the time traveling lights and just disappeared. probably something like "only the people who were on the island can get sucked up" or some other such nonsense. i know this is probably the case because hurley bought up the whole section of the plane they were in so the writers wouldn't have to explain later how a bunch of people disappeared into thin air in the middle of a plane full of onlookers.

junk science, ftw!

debunked

lol.

yea, i haven't said much about this last episode...mostly because it just left me without much to say. it wasn't bad enough to deserve a full on rant, but it wasn't good enough to evoke paragraphs of ramblings. it was what it was...basically lost trying really hard to be artsy and meta. "ooooh, wow, isn't this taking you full circle? isn't that so clever the way we're doing this?" it's like watching that floating plastic bag shit from "american beauty".

Is that machine (the others' island, portal detector) in 'Foucault's Pendulum'?

Haven't read it but planning to soon.....

my ex says it is her favourite novel, has read it an obnoxious amount of times.....

and now: who thinks the last bit of mama faraday's speech was directed toward forum scum like us who pick holes in every plot thread they offer?

this episode is like exposition-athon so far. lots of answers all the same!

foucault's pendulum is a magnificent novel.

it's the academic equivalent to the illuminatus! trilogy, essentially.

i do recommend that you read another umberto eco novel - the name of the rose - first.

it also has a plot as convoluted as lost. the structure of the library will blow your tiny mind.

the descriptions of altars and structures and ceremonies are detailed to a degree that can only be called lush.

i'm not going to post any bookspoilers, but foucault's pendulum's plot is almost like the lost story arc, backwards.

We are due a good episode, the new one has to be better than the shit we've had the last 2 episodes.

Thank fuck for that, an actual epic episode. This is why i watch it.

yeah, this makes me hate cuse/lindelof/abrams/et al

they are fully aware of the fact that they can leave people hanging with little $10 rocks of plot, and occasionaly fire a big chunk of expo down the tubes.

so they do that. and usually flesh it out with some extra shit in podcasts etc,

it's a tad assholeish, they know they have a captive audience.
