Do you throw it away?

Give it to a neighbor, homeless person, other?

Or do you man up and eat it as a lesson to not be so clumsy?

I try to man up, but if it's too inedible I either give it to our roommates dog or I trash it.

Just fucked up this carbonara... turns out the type of bacon you choose is very important. I think this was Hardwood Smoked Bacon... big mistake. Probably would taste fine in a burger or a sandwich but holy shit this is like spaghetti with pieces of salty burnt charcoal -- and the bacon wasn't even overcooked, that's like the natural state of this type of bacon.

I'm eating it anyway so I remember this event and hopefully not repeat this mistake... next time I go to the store and see bacon it'll flash back to this time right now and I'll think, "okay maybe I should buy several different bacon products and cook & taste them on their own so I know ahead of time what to try for more complicated dishes".

Seriously I didn't know carbonara could be ruined, thinking bacon was an invincible ingredient that'll add goodness no matter what type you use, but leave it to me to fuck it up.

They overdid it with the salt in this bacon.

Last time I made carbonara I overcooked the bacon, but it was a different type of bacon and it wasn't salty as fuck so it was still passable, and it didn't have a charcoaly taste from overcooking it.

I think charcoal+too salty is just what this specific type of bacon is.

the only type of bacon I hate is maple bacon... it isn't delicious the way it is when you pour maple syrup over regular bacon, it's like bacon covered in stinky burnt sugar by the time you cook it

someday you'll understand. it's tough being a gay man-woman in canada. and then having to adopt a homeless bearded man. you can't know that pain until it happens to you.

i cooked the shittiest meal i've ever cooked last friday, it was a cedar plank salmon with a really sweet apricot glaze, and some corn and peppers dish that sucked dick. i almost cut the tip of my thumb off too whilst cutting the peppers. blood was everywhere. maybe i got blood in the vegetables, i dont know. everything was a disaster. good learning experience though. you learn more when you cook a piece of shit i reckon.

Slightly different but I remember going to an all-you-can-eat Chinese with my bro. and covered a plate of food with what I thought was sweet and sour sauce, but turned out to be honey. Rather than getting the piss ripped out of me I decided to stay quiet and eat the whole plate, I spent the rest of the walk back home trying not to puke everywhere.
