From that point on I prefer to think of the Doobie Brothers as Michael McDonald and His Backing Band (that he occasionally allows to sing). Yes one can see the similarity to La Nouvelle Vague, it's my opinion that if La Nouvelle Vague had dealt more with topics like Michael McDonald it would have propelled French cinema past Hollywood to take over the world.
