In an interesting documentary about the real curse of the Poltergeist films, they talked about casting the actor for Kane. He was a unique fit because he had end-stage stomach cancer so his chilling appearance could not be achieved by Hollywood makeup or props. When he screams "YOU'RE ALL GOING TO DIE IN THERE!" from the screen door, it was apparently a disturbing moment for everyone on the set given his appearance and the fact that he genuinely would be dead in less than 2 years. There was always a quality to him that made him seem like he was going to jump out of the screen and hide in your bedroom. He still makes appearances in my dreams.
