The preacher from Polergeist 2

There's a reason why he bothers you. In an interesting documentary about the real curse of the Poltergeist films, they talked about casting the actor for Kane. He was a unique fit because he had end-stage stomach cancer so his chilling appearance could not be achieved by Hollywood makeup or props. When he screams "YOU'RE ALL GOING TO DIE IN THERE!" from the screen door, it was apparently a disturbing moment for everyone on the set given his appearance and the fact that he genuinely would be dead in less than 2 years.

Yeah, a truly disturbing character in the history of horror movies. There was always a quality to him that made him seem like he was going to jump out of the screen and hide in your bedroom. He still makes appearances in my dreams.

Spack hand Luke played a DJ set in Glasgow in 2005 after a Squarepusher gig and projected images of this guy onto the screen behind, obviously trying to freak people out.

Guest southside jim

I heard he actually was dying while he was playing this role...sort of adds to the creepy-ness of the whole thing..

EDIT:

lolz, looks like that was already mentioned.

Julian Beck scared the shit out of me in that movie. I don't really care for the tall man from the phantasm movies (altho I love the original phantasm)

Never seen that Anthrax cover before, but they made a good choice choosing the Poltergeist preacher for the centrepiece. Can't think of anyone else who would stand out from the afro crowd more than him.

Now sing: "God is in his holy temple........."

it's a watchable film for sure, but the inclusion of a native american spirit guide as well as some other cheesy shit i dont want to mention in case of spoilers makes this pale heavily in comparison to the first Poltergeist.

as you should be, don't even bother watching #3 , i have a soft spot for #2 though. kind of sad what happened to both the young female characters in #1 and 2. one of them was beaten to death (the older italian looking one) and i think the caroline died from some freak childhood virus

Which Poltergeist has the mirror scene? My wife described it to me, and I've never seen any of them (well, not from start to finish when bits are edited out for commercial breaks when they play it on television and then my mommy tells us to change the channel).

best scene in Poltergeist 2 is when the dad drinks the tequila and he vomits out the monster worm (which is also the preacher in a different form)
