"AH'VE CABBAGED YER AMBULANCE!!!!"

Roughly Translates as

1/ I just missed/hit your van.

2/ cabbaged = damaged / ambulance = van being driven to fast (van driven like ambulance)

So roughly by my guess he said "YOUR DRIVEING TO FAST FOR ME TO PULL IN FRONT OF YOU"

yes car jargon!

Cosworth (scotland) = cossey

Cosworth (england) = cossa

we called them cosseys down in english/welsh borderplaces

engine sizes were just "one two" for a 1.2l, etc.

petrol was jungle juice for some reason

We were stuck in traffic and he was in the turning lane while we were going straight so I really doubt that he was trying to pull in front - so I'm going to go with meaning 1. Which actually kind of makes sense considering the size of our tour van, we wouldn't even have noticed if he hit the back.

Thank you! I've been trying to make sense of this for years!
