trailers with speacially-shot footage that isnt part of the actual film. like with a charcter talking to camer about what's in the movie. these seem to be a lost art.

SPD2 posted this great one in the Tangerine Dream thread...

edit: i find this pre T2 trailer interesting for a lot of reasons. One being that Arnold looks younger than he does in the actual movie Terminator 2, maybe skinnier. Either way it was the iconic Arnold shot (at the end of this teaser) used on most of the videogame and merchandising for the film. and the music is fucking awesome! it sounds more like the synth heavy score for Terminator 1, i wonder if it's by Brad Fiedel?

Fiedel scored T2 as well, and it is a variation on the main Terminator theme, so it's probably from the T2 score (probably buried under explosions in the actual film).

im a big fan of both the scores, but this song appears no where in either movie or soundtrack recording. In a weird way it doesn't sound like brad fiedel to me, it sounds like the Midway arcade music for the T2 arcade game

I think (correct me if i am wrong) that Stan Winston Directed that trailer, he did a pretty good job!

A good director has faith in his collaborators. No doubt Cameron was there every step of the way making the trailer, but given it was going to be 90% practical effects, he was big enough to let the best practical effects guy in the businsess take the directing credit.

In the YouTube comments for the Romancing The Stone trailer, somebody claims that 4th wall breaking trailers are a Zemickis trademark, but I couldn't find any others...
