My simple understanding of it would be ice caps and glaciers melting would cause more water in the atmosphere, more snow, rain storms etc. it also makes it hotter and dryer in the summer when its convenient for the argument. they want you to trade your old gas guzzler for a new car. or trade in your old one, give the middle finger and buy a new gas guzzler. so it boils down to this, the concept of global warming sells more cars.
