FUNDRAISING SITE

I am training to run a marathon to raise funds for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

I am running in honor of my father, grandmother, mentor/inspiration and a dear friend.

you can read about it on my fundraising site. if any of you have a loved one that was

afflicted by any cancer i will write their name on a white flower and

pin it to my jersey when i run the marathon.

please donate even if it is only a very small amount. it would mean a lot to me.

i dunno if this is a watmm type thing but i thought i would give it a try..

For serious, a marathon is major hell on your body, the stress is incredible. And if you haven't done anything like this before, 4 months training is not enough time.

eddie izzard did 5 weeks training and ran 43 marathons within 52 days.

i'm just sayin', it's possible to do a marathon without months of training.

Ah I suppose I should clarify. Not possible to do it competitively.

So while you're doing it petr, make sure you take care of yourself!

Good on Eddie Izzard though, that's fucking brilliant.

I think petr is incredibly courageous to set herself that goal. I hope you'll collect lots of funds (don't count me in though).

thank you for all the encouragement and support. and yes - i do understand how damaging a marathon is on the body, i played soccer for 14 years very competitively and did olympic development training for that as well, i only stopped because i decided to go to art school. but i have previous experience with intense heavy exertion on my body, i didn't just wake up one day with no experience and say "hey i think i will run a marathon". i am very serious about it and understand how huge of a challenge it is. the hardest part for me will be regulating my pace, naturally i am a sprinter not a long distance runner, but i am training very hard to work on endurance and timing so that i dont burn out when i hit mile 14 or so.

but yes anyways thank you so much for the nice things that people said.

*i will try very hard to avoid shitting my pants during the last stretch of the marathon.

oh yes and please still donate if you want to, it can be a very tiny amount, $2, $4, $1,000,000, etc
