Egypt, Tunisia, Yemen.. now Iran.

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2011/02/14/AR2011021400848.html

"TEHRAN - Crowds battled tear gas and police batons during a rare anti-government protest in the Iranian capital Monday that drew inspiration from the recent popular uprisings in Egypt and Tunisia.

Dodging clouds of tear gas fired by police and pro-government militias, crowds of people marched down a central boulevard and shouted slogans such as "Death to the dictator," "We are all together" and "Down with Taliban, in Cairo and Tehran.""

I wonder if they have MacDonalds in Iran

If they do, I wouldn't mind having a Big Mac in there.

Then perhaps taking a good old muslim dump in the customer rest rooms.

why now Middle East desires democracy so much?

It's not a recent thing - they have desired democracy for quite a while - it's just that democracy didn't happen to match the agenda of the US/UK in many of those states.

...and to the Ann Coulters of the world, it still doesn't match the U.S. agenda.

Yes of course - but fortunately that vapid cunt has lost much of her influence, and the US, in response to the economic crisis is retreating inwards to a slightly more isolationist policy.

Additionally, people have discovered that if you stand up to dictators now, they are much more likely to receive, if not support, at least the blessing of the international community.
