I understand that I lack the skills to make something professional sounding. I have there for created a new soundcloud where I will put all my tracks and refer to them as ideas. So please, before judging them you need to understand that it are just ideas... I spend a lot of time on this track, double the time I normally spend easily... I will share the video here of the track (daw recording) but I have to be honest, I did it all with headphones on and that can create extra bass so I will have to relisten to it tomorrow to see what it does when I hear it thru speakers... I just hope this is good because hey, I really did my very best now... I only have to put the track thru a mastering tool I have, to make it louder without going into red in the master signal thingy. You probably will have to put your sound way up... I will show the video in a few minutes once its uploaded to youtube and in its best quality... With my headphones on the song I just made sounds pretty good but thru speakers its something entirely else, will upload the track how its made with headphones on, the bass is pretty big in the headphones but very small on speakers. Can you let me know how you hear the bass thru your monitors? Big or small? I think my speakers just can not handle the bass or something, I do not know to be honest... maybe the headphones just enhance the bass a lot, thats also possible... but I understand now without monitors I will not be able, even if I look at youtube videos, to mix properly... what to do now... not make music untill I can afford to buy them? I aint getting there but I will share how far I am now in a minute. Its a work in progress, will go back to it later but now I think I am just gonna take a break for a bit. Mozex Posted March 21, 2020 Author Share Posted March 21, 2020 So, I used the EQ, made some changes in the arrangement from time to time and I even put im so bad quality transitions but I do not have a lot of them and surely not any good ones... and I tried to pan some instruments I EQ'd every track and then on the mixbuss also, I do not know if I did it right at all but it does sound nice thru my headphones but well, the other tracks sounded nice too. Will listen to it again tomorrow with fresh ears. I made all the arp/sequences myself, I did use preset instruments but the pattern I created completely myself. I have not idea yet how to make my own sounds but I used presets arps for a long time and I do not think that will happen anymore now. Mozex Posted March 23, 2020 Author Share Posted March 23, 2020 I am watching a tutorial on how to create edm track on slate digital academy, it is in the sub I have. I have come to the conclusion that I really need the upgrade to go from 16 tracks to unlimited tracks. I asked the budgetman (I am in a budget control program which handles my finances, I get for instance 50€ a week and all other money is used to pay bills and save a bit) for money for that upgrade. The chance is VERY SMALL that I will get it since I do not have a lot of money on the moment. I hope I get it because I need it to become better. Now I understand why my songs sound empty. They used over 10 tracks just for the drums, layering different snares for instance. It is a whole lot to take in, they start from nothing and it ends with a full song, mastered and mixed included. So I will watch a few of the lessons each day because I believe it will be to much to take in at once. No it stays for me. I do not give any money to any thing. I had to do this, let me explain. When I was 20 years old they believed I had a psychosis. I had to go into a asylum. (please keep the jokes for yourself) They were able to hold me there for 40 days and then had to release me because they did not find anything. They did tests each day, but could not find anything to support their claim After 40 days I had to go to a judge (which is normal in this procedure, they then decide you need to stay longer or can go home) The doctor said that they could not find anything but that they wanted to keep me longer. I after that learned that they were planning to keep me there for two years. The judge decided that this was not necessary, since the fact that if something was wrong, they should have found proof of it already. But there were conditions. I had to go to a psych every month and had to go into this budget control thing because I was lousy at saving money. Now the budget control thing, what is it? It's nothing more then a institution that handles my money transfers. I am unemployed so I have a income from the state. I do earn 1€ an hour from volunteering work I do. I work three days in a week on the moment and that gives me an extra 90€ a month. I get this on my bank account which I can control myself. But now with the corona thing, the shop closed, so I do not have income from that anymore either. I will explain with numbers. I get 600€ a month from state (unemployed income). This goes to budget control center. They give me 50€ a week from it and the other rest gets used to pay my bills and to save a bit. The money does not go to any other thing then to myself, bills, and savings account. They just handle my finances because I am lousy at savings, so nothing goes to church or anything. It all stays mine but I do have to pay bills... But yeah, it does not matter. I actually have send an email to ableton guys because I am that desperate. To see if they can help me... I do not like doing it, but music is the only thing that keeps me going on this moment. I lost interest in everything else, gaming, watching movies, I do not really care about that anymore. Those things can not keep my attention... I can play a game for an hour and then I am fed up with it. I can watch a movie for an half hour and then I am fed up with it. This has to do with the depression I suffer from (which I am taking meds for). Nothing seems to interest me anymore. Except making music. So yeah I will see what the ableton people answer, if I even get an answer. I just hope they are polite and understanding when telling me they can not help me...
