Music zines

Has anyone here ever made or contributed to a music zine?

Any experiences (good or bad) to share?

Any links to zines that are good?

I am dipping my toes into the muddy water of zine world and I can't find much in the way of electronic music / techno as a reference point which I guess is a good thing - there might be a market out there for what we are doing.

Ok so I have finished compiling issue 1 of my zine.

It's my first attempt at creating such a thing and I'm fairly happy with how it's turned out.

If anybody would like a copy, PM me your address and I'll send it out, probably free if you are in Europe but I'll maybe have to ask for a small donation to cover postage if you are in Venezuela or something. Or if anyone wants to donate that's cool too.

Details

Snare/Rush - July 2016 [issue One]

/// A5, 20 pages, B&W on 80gsm grey paper.

/// 90bpm Russian Techno

/// Disemvowellment in electronic music

/// Techno Topographia UK Edition

/// An interview with MDM Chaos

/// A Quiz

/// A short discussion on vinyl

/// Music reviews and charts

/// Photography and other bits and bobs

A labour of love but I'm keen to keep this thing going and already have plenty of ideas for Issue 2.

Once the paper copies have gone I'll stick an archive PDF copy online at:-

Long time bump....

Looking for more music / art zines to help towards a research article I am writing.

News on local / niche genre zines very much encouraged!

Can be old / archived projects as well as ongoing.

Any info greatly appreciated.

I made one for my y12 media project that was basically just an excuse to nerd out about Aphex Twin, Nicholas Jaar, Burial, etc

This is exactly why they should be made. They offer a snapshot of a viewpoint at a particular time and place that looking at a website cannot give you.

Time capsule type scenario
