this was brilliant. obviously peter strickland has either been watching a lot of jean rollin or radley metzger films because he pinched the erotic parts of those- but he's still running a very textbook production so things feel like they should be there because they were in the shot list rather than naturally being there because they compliment the story. this is better than berberian sound studio. my stamp of approval

me- this happens almost all the time, even though all these films were watched for free as pre-screenings: my girlfriend and i walked out of deliver us from evil several people walked out of jupiter ascending (i'm talking like 1/4 of the theater) grindhouse had a couple of walk outs after planet terror but i'm assuming people didn't know what a double feature meant beyond the lights had a few walk outs

this is a 3d film only available for mobile devices through google's spotlight stories which is actually interesting because you move your phone/pad to look around the screen. so when you turn your phone, the camera turns etc. imo, this has a lot of potential: currently it looks very video-gamey and so-far, a generic story but hopefully some interesting projects can be worked on (perhaps someone can peep google to the terrible film idea thread to give them that WATMM inspiration with gasper noe directing)

looks like they just added a few more facades and buildings, but all that was already there. they're building a harry potter world which looks like it will take over a HUGE section of the park- and they took down what was imo the best show- the t2 battle across time for that boooooooring minion ride.

well, this was disappointing. i loved the first film, "kind of" enjoyed the second (had some boring parts) but this one was so bad i actually was thinking about leaving. there's too much dialogue that doesn't drive the movie because EVERYTHING IS BEING SHOUTED- annnnnnddddd theeeennnnn evvvverrrytttthiiiiing iiiiiiiiiiiiiissss spooooookkkkkeeennnnn liiiiiiikkkkkkkeeee ttthhhiiiissss AHHHHH!!!! see how annoying that is? now imagine 2 hours of that

see the problem i have with this theory is mostly the timing. why try and build hype for a show so early- before they've even began principle photography? as you said, we live in the social media age and things move very fast. building hype so early can't last by the time to show airs (around mid-end of next year) so how does that help them? it's not like anyone is going to start subscribing to showtime now. second, have you seen lynch's presence on social media? he doesn't make frivolous tweets and hardly ever starts hashtag trends hoping they'd go viral. so for his first viral media campaign, you think he made such an elaborate effort disguised as a negotiation with a cable studio? he's had previous problems with tv networks when they cancelled twin peaks and on the air and refused to make mulholland drive and swore off television- so it's natural he'd approach with caution, you don't think that makes more sense? coupled with the fact that he's also had a very salty feeling towards not having carte blanche creativity on his projects after dune and now wouldn't buckle when showtime tried to negotiate for a small budget for his most popular project?
