stupid. i hate when movies like this resort to the characters basically explaining their entire plan half way thru the movie to- you know- remind each other what their entire motive for whatever it is they're up to is. like "hey, remember when we planned on killing people? and you said you were down with it? yes, that was 2 weeks ago when i was telling you we really need x, y and z murdered and you said you were going to help. so do your part, and i will do mine of making sure r, p and s are decapitated just like i promised i would" 2 freshly sawed off limbs out of 10

well, this was a feast. greenaway (literally) ticks an entire checklist of things that will guarantee he continues NEVER to be distributed in the english speaking world. he's toned down his multi-screen thing in favor of a more "straight" storytelling avenue: somewhere along macon and nightwatching- but there's still plenty of nudity (full frontal and ample buttocks in yo face) and mention of pricks to shake a stick at for a super stylized porno bible orgy.

i loved this one. it's presented as a special report science program claiming the top governments of the world are recruiting scientists, doctors and engineers for a secret mission to terraform mars. even though it's meant to appear as a real documentary, there are a lot of telling signs it's fake (especially in the beginning) but i guess the story seemed too interesting to be considered fake (for some). lovely

i think this is broomfield's least interesting film. he's basically running around in circles trying to figure out who is telling the truth betwix heidi fleiss, her ex-boyfriend and madam alex; all of whom are pointing fingers at one another swearing the other party is the dodgy one. if you even remotely give a shit about any of these characters- it's still a tedious bore of a film.

didn't really like this. it's like that episode of star trek the next generation when a woman falls in love with data except this time- you spend the entire time watching joaquin phoenix fall in love with his phone (actually, it's an os but he carries it around a thing that looks like a smart phone). also, all the males wear these corduroy pants up to their stomach like their in the 50s 6/10

i like this show. it's incredibly over-the-top and at times predictable but i'm really enjoying it for some reason. episode 3 (i think) has this great scene where this dude gets beat-tha-fuck-up. if anyone has seen it and would like to discuss it i'm down. like how badly fucked up did that guy get?

description sounds great. anyone seen? i have. it's a little on the very long side because it's a mini-series but it's really good. a little dated at times and it's also kinda weird but definitely my favorite fassbinder film can't believe this won an oscar. it's not bad, but it's not great either. at time the jokes seem a little forced and "put on"- but i liked the characters. and lol @ mathew lillard (from hackers and scooby doo) playing a serious character.

emerald web - the stargate tapes 1979-1982: this is ridiculously good. it's actually better than watching 2 korean lesbians with pierced tongues scissor one another. it's right up there next to having nina hartley personally pour you glenfiddich in bed whilst wearing white luxe feather trim lingerie with sparkly rhinestones. also, despite the fact that it's filed under "new age" it really goes beyond that genre- it's like what you'd hear if you were watching tree spirits from that mizoguchi film

this was the first movie i ever watched in a drive-in and it still holds up. badass dance moves and a then unknown van damme doing his best gay impression of a guy feeling electro-rap a lil' too much i rate this movie: electric this was on adult swim so i decided to dive in. haven't seen it since... forever. mind-bending animation about some kind of power that takes over kids and makes them into ultra-violent type machines. good but also meh trailer

this is a pretty insane piece of anime. it's like a sex comedy version of the fall of egypt at the hands of ceasar who's obsessed with cleopatra's cleavage. the story was written by osamu tezuka who is considered the walt disney of anime- so imagine if disney had done a sex comedy of the american civil war. when the film was released in the united states, the distributors decided to bypass the MPAA and decided to give the film an x certificate and thus it found the wrong audience (raincoaters) who unfortunately didn't appreciate it too much and for a while, it was believed to have been lost.
