  1. Jack It In a futuristic dystopia everyone is "jacked into" the Fun Zone, a virtual world where masturbation is illegal. It is up to the Rub Outs, an elite hacker team, to bring masturbation back and save everyone. In the "climax" of the movie the protagonist hacks into the mainframe and broadcasts himself masturbating live direct to everyone's feed, causing everyone to realize what they are missing and free themselves from the system.
  2. Doesn't that mean each track is worse than the one before it? Wouldn't that make it a shitty 4-track sequence?
  3. My favorite one of these was this middle aged Chinese woman wearing a shirt that said something like "I'm the one you gotta blow around here to get a beer". The best part was that she was walking around my Christian high school during our yearly flea market. My sister once got one that said "sexy boys crack king".
  4. But the style is so overused.. It recalls Holly Herndon's recent full-length album, the abundance of those high-pitched vocals. It's so cluttered and insubstantial-sounding. My favorite elements are the more densely-layered bits, pummeling tracks like "Mutant Standard," and the parts where the prettier elements become more muddled and dissonant. "Child of Rage" is a successful track, though I mean, they're overdone in like, one tiny corner of the market which is mainly just PC Music. I was unaware of Holly Herndon, but after listening to it I can see the connection. However her vocals sound very organic and almost remind me more of Django Django's Default than the post-nightcore vocals of G.O.D. and PC Music. I'm pretty sure most of the vocals on G.O.D. are actually vocaloids. I don't think the style in the way Oneohtrix did it in this album is overused.
  5. I feel this way, too. Several times on the album it gets to a point where I'm really starting to get into the music, and then it just stops. I get that this is his thing, but can't you hold out bit longer? Like 1:50 in Mutant Standard, or 2:46 in Freaky Eyes. I'm literally almost in tears at those parts, but then it gets cut off.
  6. Were dmt tapes the ones that would charge for albums and then never ship them? Underground vaporwave releases that barely anyone buys seems like one of the least profitable ways to scam people.
  7. I was worried about this, I think I can kinda hear it now that I compare the two (albeit on crappy laptop speakers). That could explain why the highs are so harsh on some of the album.
  8. Does anyone else feel like this album wasn't mixed very well? I like a lot of it but often it feels like the highs are too harsh, especially in Sticky Drama.
  9. Coolest bits on this album are the pitched up (or, fucked with at least) vocals. Kind of reminds me of PC Music.
  10. They're still amazing, just saying it's nice to have a younger dude with a lot of promise in the mix. both ae and opn have expressed love for each other; fkn imagine if they did a release together. holy shizz. yeah that would be beyond incredible
  11. were does he mention it ? god so many artists are influenced by ae but i didnt expect him so say that somehow. Leaks Ae he loves ae and oversteps but doenst mean its an big influence He did call them a "north star", which seems to imply Ae are guiding him to some degree.
  12. Not really sure how I feel about the album as a whole, but Ezra is amazing. The guitar part in it is sublime.
  13. On first listen, Ezra, I Bite Through It, and Animals are my favorites. Acoustic guitars on Ezra are the best thing on the whole album, was expecting more stuff like that throughout.
  14. There was an interview I think from around when Replica came out where he was talking about that Kid606 guy (Miguel something or other?) giving him shit about the Juno+looper setup, saying it was played out, and then he got to thinking about it and decided he was right. That guy sounds like such a smug prick and his music sucks too. Oneohtrix or Kid606?
  15. Warp should probably just release the record now while everyone is excited about it. The hype is going to die down by November 13.
  16. I Bite Through It is definitely not the best OPN I've heard, but it's good enough that it bodes well for the rest of the album. I'm kind of pissed they released it so far ahead of the album because now I listened to it too much and it's going to mess up the flow of the album for me.
  17. Anyone here tried Ballast Point's Sculpin or Grapefruit Sculpin? They're my current favorite brews.
  18. It's all about the a e s t h e t i c s . They sound sort of like cyber goth/industrial from a videogame. *video* But it's shit. Why would I listen to shit? And industrial music sounds nothing like those Kaoss Edge tracks. This is industrial music: *video* Muzak is shit but vaporwave is still cool.
