  1. Just got done playing through the shareware version preview of Ion Maiden. And I must say I'm pretty impressed so far. Runs on the same original Build engine that Duke 3D, Shadow Warrior, and Blood did back in the day. But the amount of detail that went into this one might even surpass them. The tongue-in-cheek humor in the billboards posted around the second map are a nice touch too.
  2. So if WWIII/Cold War II/whatever happens, it'll look something like this (PS - Try not to laugh at 1:20)
  3. Damn. R.I.P. Apparently he was supposed to have passed at 24 after his original diagnosis, but he held in for damn long time. May he finally reach the cosmos.
  4. Why I don't keep in touch with FB friends
  5. The goddamn snow again. It warmed up just above freezing yesterday, melting quite a bit of snow from the dump just a day and a half ago...just to have it dump all over again as I type this. The amount of snow accumulation is too damn high bottom text
  6. I've actually witnessed this IRL. This is how it looks when high speed aircraft breaks the sound barrier.
  7. If one thing has truly evolved in the last three years...it's dank memes
  8. Tired of snow. I'm house-sitting all week but barely made all the way in my little Nissan. If it weren't for studded tires, this would've been a much greater problem.
  9. Oh. Dota 2 card game I think is what it was. I don't think anyone's surprised at this rate. But I do feel sorry for all the people who paid for Hunt Down The Refund Freeman, not knowing what to expect aside from a fan-made HL expansion.
  10. Word. We could always use more...so long as they're not Bandits or Monolith. Anyway, as for Dark Souls (yes, Dark Souls), apparently the game actually helped someone thru a deep depression and prevented them from committing suicide, according to a YT vid I watched the other day. I did try DS once (two years ago I think). I played for maybe 15 or 20 minutes before I lost interest. So while it isn't my cup of tea personally, perhaps I'm starting to see it in a new light. If it brings challenge an excitement to a vast array of players, and even save lives...who am I to complain?
  11. I recently started a NV playthrough as well. (can you tell I'm a fan? lol) Anyway, I haven't even left Goodsprings yet. Was kind of eager to get into the Old World Blues and Lonesome Road DLCs again, but it'll be probably days, weeks even before I reach that point.
  12. Finally earned 5.00 USD in Steam in-store credits by selling off loads of digital trading cards. Might put it towards Into The Breach as my next purchase.
  13. Oh yeah, absinthe is legal in Japan innit. Back when I lived in Sapporo two buddies of mine (one Japanese, one from my city) played a prank on me by inviting me to have a sip of coffee in a cafe. Sure enough, I was like "this tastes like licorice tho". Cheeky bastards.
  14. Interesting you bring up Mortal Kombat. I think it was either late 1992 or early 1993 it made its debut on arcades (and SNES?). And the ESRB was founded shortly after, I think partially in response to MK. But yeah, all games today are legally obligated to feature the ESRB age rating label. And on top of that, violence has been occurring for the past several centuries, not to mention millennia. LONG before video games were ever even conceived.
  15. Ooohhh, I didn't even realize I'd made a pun at first, lol. Good catch
  16. Funny how the administration seems to tiptoe around the issue of gun control and scapegoat video games instead, being the NRA whores that they are. Didn't they rescind an Obama-era gun regulation law last year? I'll admit that some of the scenes in that WH vid are a bit grotesque and over the top, even for someone who's been playing shooters for more than two decades. But including Fallout 4? C'mon.
