  1. What is Assange's de facto allegiance again? Seems I've been out of the loop regarding him this year.
  2. I'm probably not getting enough veggies on this holiday trip at my grandparents' house in north central WA. I feel like a glutton every time I stay. But I will make up for it somehow when I get back home.
  3. I recommend playing The New Order first so you can better understand what's going on. But as long as you're having fun that's all that matters. I was playing Mega Man X for the first time in ages a couple of days ago on my brother's SNES Classic and already defeated four bosses. But I ran out of time before I could continue. Good thing I saved the 12-digit pass code tho. Might have to get my own SNES Classic after New Year's.
  4. I wonder if IW followers can distinguish between Antifa and Intifada.
  5. A far less serious FWP: I'm about to go on holiday/vaycay but my flight departs @ 5 AM. So I need to wake up hella early. Consuming a caffeinated beverage in the evening probably wasn't the wisest course of action.
  6. I was thinking about this today (I think about it every day). mental health issues, far from being unusual or taboo, should be recognised for how normal and common they are. depression in particular. it is a normal reaction to observe the state of the world and the terms & conditions of existence (namely, that you can't really change anything and you're only here for a blink anyway) and, if you're somebody who has any empathy or cares about the common good, to become depressed about it. it's a human reaction. what matters is how you deal with that, not stigmatising negative thoughts as abnormal and outside of the ordinary human experience. we should instill in society the basic understanding that accepting your bad thoughts and dealing with them appropriately makes you a far stronger person than just trying (and failing) to aim for some constant bland positivity all throughout your life. edit: and this should be reflected in our institutions, especially in places of employment - people's mental health issues should be on the agenda in terms of professional development, not neglected by idiot managers as "that's for you to deal with, I just manage your work". normies who emphasise mindless positivity and repress their issues are the biggest nutters out there, and are often the ones who will trample on others/behave unethically to get what they want. Not to get too personal, but an all too familiar example is when my own step brother took the "shortcut" three years ago. Granted it was partly combat PTSD related, but he concealed his suffering pretty well. Oddly enough, I was right at the age that he left when I had my own depression episode in early July 2016. But I made a promise to those close to me not to opt out early. But it was also a very uncertain year with a lot of anxiety for everyone. Anyway, my advice is if you're suffering from depression too, it's best to bring it out in the open.
  7. They should feel free use those words anyway, because it's their Constitutional right. Fuck this rotten butthole of an administration.
  8. Looks like I might be going another year without health insurance. I make too much money to qualify for Medicaid, yet after I applied for health coverage for ACA I found out the lowest monthly premium I could pay is $493. Fuck that. I can't make a living paying that shit. This country is broken.
  9. Well well, I've been thinking for a while now how it would be cool to have a Fallout game set in the PNW. And as it turns out, there's already a third party expansion in the works by a 100+ member mod team with that very goal in mind: Also their official website: http://falloutcascadia.com/#
  10. Chili is one of the things I honestly don't at all mind being vegetarian. It's really all about carrying the spices and flavors which I think beans do just fine. Did you use a recipe from online somewhere? This is the one I followed: https://www.epicurious.com/recipes/food/views/vegetarian-black-bean-chili-230632 The only liberty I took was using chickpeas and kidney beans in addition to black beans, rather than using black beans only. And it still turned out great. And yes, in many cases the spices you use can make or break a dish.
  11. I just realized he's got a dime bag. Didn't see that the first time.
  12. Either way, the important thing is Alabama made the right choice in the end. But I wonder if it's too early to say that the pendulum is about to swing back the other way for this country.
  13. Just made some bomb-ass three bean vegetarian chili. Used sour cream, shredded colby jack, green onion, and cilantro for garnish. It honestly surpassed my expectations.
  14. Yep, confirmed victory for Jones. After Moore pranced in earlier on horseback all heroic-like, I bet this was a slap in the face for him
  15. So the special election is going on in Alabama right now. And there are already reports of police intimidation and voter suppression, especially against black voters. And my state's two Republican senators both stated that they're against Moore, yet all these Trump-loving poop slingers on my local news FB page are condemning their own senators and defending Moore. These local retards are ignorant beyond measure. They might as well pack up and move to Alabama if they love Moore so much.
