  1. The two episodes I've watched today (nosedive and shut up and dance) were gripping. This programme rarely gets anything wrong. Sent from my E2105 using Tapatalk
  2. You are in for a treat beause all the episodes get better after that, and they are all so unique. It pinnacled at the Xmas episode for me, the three tales, that was stunning, it's gone to Amazon now I think. I've been watching National Treasure but am getting pretty annoyed with it. It could have been great in the hands of a different director but it's the guy who did Utopia and he's gimmicky as fuck with oversaturated colours like he's shooting a Massive Attack video or something. Great actors and decent script, ruined by a hack who should be making nightcore videos.
  3. I read the 60 sec interview with him in the Metro yesterday where he refers to his character as ''The Man In Black''. They are trying to make him mysterious like the man with no name, I don't think Gunslinger does him justice, he is looking for the end game. Great interview but he doesn't give much away ....
  4. I'm not sure about this now after ep2. It has some good stuff and some bad. It seems to be wallowing in it's own morality too much. That English actor who plays the guy developing the storylines is a one dimensional sack of shit and a really, really bad actor. I knew I'd seen him in something else, it was The Devil Inside where he was playing a highly strung preacher doing one last exorcism to cast out a demon. He was awful in that by overacting, he's doing the same here. You know he will be killed soon by one of the hosts, but he should be less shit and have some subtlety in his performance.
  5. I think Blade Runner 2049 will have to do something really different, we're pretty much all roboted out...and zombied out. Familiarity is killing us. Even a great show like Westworld is marred by us thinking about other shows, movies, books. etc. I imagine it's very difficult to get any new juice outta such a well worn genre. All we can do is have faith in the creative talent, and if that leads to disappointment, double dawg dang, we've been there before with Prometheus.
  6. He will have been upgraded so he can live past his expiry, or if he's running on android he will have been rooted by one an XDA developers (probably Gosling) to bypass the limitations and bloatware in his code by JF Sebastian. Refreshed data partition but probably a microSD card with some memory on it that'll make him go looking for Sean Young.
  7. I liked the first episode a lot. Critchton's novel is certainly set up for the long game with all the coding glitches on Android at the moment, Wild West vs the modern world is as apt as a bulls bollocks. Love the acting more than anything, nuances and subtlety with a top notch cast. Little glimpse of Hopkins as the egotist perfectionist. The best is Sidse Knudsen as one of the ''android developers''.
  8. recks on cofirmed 100% 10/10 track I think you'll agree, it's a 10 guys
  9. Four Flies On Grey Velvet (1971) is impressive and unexpected. It's Argento's ''lost masterpiece'' according to Shameless ''scanned from the original negative in it's most complete form with all previously lost footage re-inserted''. When you read that on the cover you don't hold out much hope, but this is class. Drummer in a rock band stabs a stalker then gets blackmailed by a sinister entity. Very visually disorientating but has a grip on narrative superior to Argento's later ''golden era'' of the film's we've all seen. It's time to go back and revisit his early shit, y'all. The animal trilogy. Plus that's a great name for a film. Or even a band.
  10. I too was bored watching Neon Demon for the first time. Second viewing, I realized Refn had completely knocked it out of the park. Brilliant film. You know what i'm talking about, men. Only complaints I have are about the soundtrack which was imo weak. And it wasn't violent enough. They used so much money on lipstick they couldn't get tom savini on set

Child, return to the hipster wilderness. The tricks in this thread are great, just can't find any new ones to post up.
  12. the words are ''delete stop saying heh''
  13. I finally found the data cable for recharge my nw-a3000 which was my only device with these tracks on it. Feels so good hearing pretend analogue, Bradley echoes, etc. after all this time.
  14. Star Wars and Indiana J had to use drawings on their covers because these cast were being diva's. They said ''we ain't doing a photoshoot, it's not in our contact'' add to that the fact the photographer was a bit of an egotistical wank who would only shoot only in b&w, eventually the producers said ''Fuck this, we're dealing with assholes. Use drawings''. Not an artistic choice at all. Purely monetary. Same thing with Stranger Things, Winona was holding out for more cash and being a diva. She said ''You need me for this photoshoot for the posters. Pay me. You don't have an image a screenshot of high enough quality to use, and stills photographers don't exist on sets. In 25 years when laptop geeks are overthinking this it's you who will have to justify why the image is low res or a drawing''
  15. Exactly. With Ae track 1 is great and you have expectation of what the next is, then they blow that theory away with a few diverse sounding tracks They did it with feed1 too.
  16. Texas Chainsaw 2, i'm finding the art within the madness. Tobe Hooper was at the peak of his game on this, it took us 30 years to realise
  17. Ok Fleure just dropped into my top 5 Ae tracks of all time
  18. Getting back into giallo after watching The Beyond blu ray. Gonna start collecting these again now that they're getting released in such good quality. Arrow and Shameless are restoring scans from the original negatives and they look and sound luscious. They also just released cronenbergs pre-shivers amatuer short films which i haven't seen. Keep up the good working Arrow, Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 has never looked so good. It should be re-reviewed.
  19. Suicide Squad was a mess. No idea what the hell was going on. Team of psycho's assembled to combat an event which hasn't even happened yet involving a witch and one of the gods of eqypt building some kind of machine to take over the world. And then it gets messier with the gang including a crocodile man who serves no purpose and has very naff one-liners and a convicted felon who ''can climb anything'' who gets shot after 10 seconds by one of his own gang after trying to escape up a block of flats. Stupid filler characters in this squad of wafer thin caricatures, hand selected by bad bitch Viola Davis who herself should have been shot in the in first third so the audience could get some form of satisfaction. By the finale the squad are given a little clue as to what they have spent the duration of the film fighting against, but are really still are as confused as the audience when they see this witch standing in the town hall with black vapours coming from her shoulders and a mish mash of CGI behind her, meanwhile her vague looking war machine is taking shape above some alleyway outside. And from there it goes downhill. Also, the soundtrack is the most contrived collection of pop hits spanning the last 30 years. Very uninspiring all round. This film has had the shit hyped out of it for over a year which makes it all the more unpalatable. Unless you're very familiar with the comics it'll be hard to take much from this. One good thing was the end credits which whilst bringing a sense of relief, look awesome in 3D. But even that is brought to a halt by a very very shit post credit sequence. Fuck you, film.
  20. Don't be too hard on Deadpool, i thought it had a lot of cool stuff, it's certainly not 0/10. It's 7/10. Got home quite late last night with a Dominos (the 5.99 deal. medium, two toppings) ready to watch Hobbit 3. Put on the 3d glasses + pushed the couch close to the telly. Relaxed. Got completey distracted by Mo Farah winning then started flicking through the channels and found Treacle Jr. 8/10 Aiden Gillen who you may know as Littlefinger never seems to play the same character twice., my favourite actor atm. In Treacle Jr. Tom Fisher plays the bewildered straight man, fled his old wife and baby to become a bum. Prepared to lose everything. Meets Aiden, annoying but tender, they feed from each other. This is how you make films when you have no money, a decent script and very good actors.
