Wu-Tang Clan - Once Upon a time in Shaolin
doublename replied to Nebraska's topic in New & Upcoming Releases
I fear the museum tour will bomb atomically -
I'm holding out for a collected edition of this, but it looks and sounds awesome. Currently reading Swamp Thing and Promethea in trade right now -- great stuff.

There is a definitely a middle aged, white hip-hop nerd out there who will pay any price asked. -

Kill everyone and come up with a new group in a new setting. Shit is tedious, dawg.- 2,122 replies

I've been thinking about checking it out, since I like The Unwritten. Is it still good?

Copied from the Website, because lazy: Sprawling across an epic landscape of deserts, harems, and modern industrial clutter, HABIBI tells the tale of Dodola and Zam, refugee child slaves bound to each other by chance, by circumstance, and by the love that grows between them. At once contemporary and timeless, HABIBI gives us a love story of astounding resonance: a parable about our relationship to the natural world, the cultural divide between the first and third worlds, the common heritage of Christianity and Islam, and, most potently, the magic of storytelling.

I'm about two-thirds through Craig Thompson's Habibi. It's fuckinglush: Also just started reading Lucifer. Mike Carey is the best writer in mainstream comics.

A handful of decent, suspenseful scenes bookended by utter shit. This ep pretty much sums up the entire series.- 2,122 replies

I thought True Detective was pretty good too. I normally avoid gritty detective shit like Low Winter Sun and The Killing, but I think TD has potential. The first few episodes of Helix are decent if you're hurting for a horror show that isn't The Walking Dead. Sent from my RM-917_nam_usa_100 using Tapatalk

Read Jeff Lemire's Underwater Welder and mostly enjoyed it. All of his work is starting to feel a bit samey to me, though. Also about halfway through Paul Pope's Battling Boy. Where was this when I was 13?
