  1. Silicon Valley - The Big Bang Theory with jokes The Americans - Homeland with a brain
  2. Never really got into this record after liking Souvlaki a lot. I'll have to give it another shot today.
  3. Straight agua, homie. I hate warmish weather.
  4. With Image selling their books DRM free, I really just need Dark Horse to sort themselves out. The DH app is an abomination, even compared to Comixology.
  5. So it looks like Amazon is acquiring Comixology. Do any of you read your comics digitally? http://www.theverge.com/2014/4/10/5602222/amazon-acquiring-digital-comics-platform-comixology
  6. i edited my post to make my dry sense of humour more obvious to a scotsman. I mean if it's being ripped by someone that rephlex are sending it to, that would suggest that perhaps it's going to a good place already. And so all our discussion around the matter of ripping it is speculative fun. "interests: ignoring collateral damage"
  7. Still working over the Ekoplekz album. I've been try to listened to fewer albums, but spend more time with each one. This record really rewards the extra time spent. Sooner or later I'll try to get back into Drop the Vowels.
  8. MGS Ground Zeroes - This is the shortest game I've ever bought, but it was fun enough. Stealth throat slashings will never get old.
  9. it's good for network tv, probably the best thing on network tv, for whatever that's worth. it's fairly ridiculous, particularly in terms of plotting, because it's "hannibal," which is honestly a bit silly? But it's also very watchable and pretty dark for network tv. it's objectively much better than/darker than, say, Dexter. There is some legitimately arresting imagery, a good deal of which does not seem particularly networky, and a good deal of which is also way better than you'd expect from this particular franchise (post-Silence of the Lambs, I mean). The main actors are good. Mads Mikkelsen owns the character now. And for some reason Scott Thompson from Kids in the Hall is in it, and a super reserved Gillian Anderson. The casting is a bit weird and, maybe because of nothing more than my own expectations, makes for some tonal inconsistency; in hindsight the casting might be kind of clever. I enjoy trying to determine whether Laurence Fishburne is losing weight or gaining weight in any given episode (I actually think he might be losing quite a bit at this point!). pretty accurate. The show is most definitely flawed. But, I'm really down with the strengths baph alluded to. I think the whole first season is streaming on Amazon Prime, so I'll give the show a look. Sounds like it'll be pretty and interesting at the very least. Fanks u guice!
  10. Anyone watching Hannibal? If so, is it good TV or good for network TV (or shit)?
  11. Seiobo There Below by Laszlo Krasznahorkai. It's more a collection loosely related short stories than a novel, but I'm intrigued to read more of his stuff.
  12. The five minute dramatic pause before he actually delivered the line made it that much worse (better?).
  13. Liars - Mess ??/10 (initial listens have left me cold, but that's par for the course with Liars) Liars - WIXIW 9/10 (my new favorite Liars album, don't know why I slept on this a couple years ago) Liars - Liars 6/10 (this album will never click for me) Ekoplekz - Unfidelity 8/10 (i knew nothing about Ekoplekz beforehand, but this is so tuff) Ruff Sqwad - White Label Classics 9/10 (Cheap sounding Grime trunk rattlers, love it) Donato Dozzy & Nuel - Aquaplano Sessions (pretty sure this is going to be a big one for me in coming months) Swans - The Seer (finally giving this the time it deserves)
