  1. You should give The Omega Men a shot -- religious fanaticism, space terrorism, it's the most out there book DC is doing right now. Grayson is also quality, but I worry it will get sucked into a shitty Batman crossover sooner or later. Looks like they'll manage to finish the first year with no interference though.
  2. They've been beta testing this new look for months, I guess it's officially out now. Last.fm really needs a new owner, CBS has let it rot for years.
  3. ^ Charles Soule, who took over after Snyder, had a pretty good run on Swamp Thing. I've heard that Snyder's run started well, but then got derailed by the Rotworld crossover (which also screwed up a good Animal Man run by Jeff Lemire) and never really recovered.
  4. Marvel movies are really just light, inoffensive comedy occasionally interrupted by insipid violence. I wish they would just let someone do 90 minutes of superhero bantz, or a stealth remake of Manhattan with Hulk in the Woody Allen role.
  5. I think I'll catch up on Better Call Saul now and save True Detective for grimmest winter. I dunno, but there is only 1 thing that would make me watch more of this - gemma chan...holy shit she is gorgeous. if I were the dad in this show, I would leave my annoying family and run off with anita...keep her in 18+ mode all the time Gemma Chan is unreal, mayne.
  6. ^ amen. Also not thrilled that it's coming back, wasn't this originally a miniseries? edit: WATMM, I haven't watched True Detective season 2 or Better Call Saul yet. Pick one for me.
  7. I don't normally read a ton of superhero books, but I've gotten it into my head that I've got to read the Frank Miller Daredevil run. It's cool, pulpy fun so far, but these incredibly verbose 80s comics really can be chore.
  8. Netflix are a guess if what you would think of the movie aren't they? Totally worthless whatever the case.
  9. Yeah, that's the first interior page of Grayson #8 or #9 (I think).
  10. Some neat pages that caught my attention in the past couple of weeks: Special bonus weirdness:
  11. That's just the costume he wears before the Avengers give him a real one, right?
  12. The 12 gauge auto-loader. The 45 long slide with laser sighting. Phase plasma rifle in 40-watt range. The Uzi 9mm. All. Wrong. *Blam*
  13. It's a really good crime comic set in the rural south. Definitely worth checking out.
  14. lol^ The cover art for Southern Bastards #12 p great Here's a cool variant they did for #10:
  15. So Pyongyang is definitely nicer than Philadelphia, right? This is the impression I'm getting.
  16. ^ What I posted above is the new Multiple Warheads strip in Island #1 Brandon Graham's lady(?) Marian Churchland is doing art on 8House, but she's also great (Tumblr: http://hchomgoblin.tumblr.com). Some random stuff she's posted:
  17. as I understand it, they're coming back to pick up where they left off, and then finish their proposed storyline from the 80s.http://io9.com/our-first-look-at-neil-gaimans-remastered-miracleman-1722482177 New issues should be coming after the reprints, hopefully on a better schedule than the new Sandman stuff. http://marvel.com/news/comics/24545/miraclemans_golden_age_begins_this_fall
  18. What comic is this from? Any good? It's from Brandon Graham's new anthology magazine "Island". Most of the stories the first issue were really good. If you like that particular strip, check out Multiple Warheads, which is where those characters are from originally.
  19. Marvel is ramping up the hype-o-tron for Neil Gaiman's Miracleman, and I've got to say I'm more excited about seeing him finish that run than I was about the Sandman prequel (http://goo.gl/VTSt3f).
  20. No tits in American newspapers. Savage nation.
  21. I don't know, Jay-Z isn't so different from any of the other celebrities that Americans fawn over. I just think Tidal (like Beats) was a few years too late getting to market.
  22. Deadpool is a terrible character. edit: lol 14 year olds don't remember 1997, so none of these jokes will land anyway.
