  1. I am playing the hell out of this EP. Much more than I thought I would. I've heard it roughly.. 50 more times than DeeJay Selek.
  2. Checking in to say this album is holding up really well. Still easy to listen to in it's entirety when the mood strikes. Solid as holy hell.
  3. wow. sounds cool. Makes me wonder if that is more around the speed it was recorded and he slowed it all later.
  4. absolutely lush keyboard I love you
  5. Damn. That is pretty impressive. Once I didn't have to rely on a leak to hear it, I felt it was "ok" to do so. But I wish I would have virgin ears when the record arrives at my door.
  6. cirklon1 has some serious magic in it. Can't wait to hear it in proper quality. That is clearly the "single" to my ears. But damn.. solid stuff. This is a special little ep.
  7. I'm really enjoying this. Very coherent and vibey. Really really works for me. I personally like that middle ground when he isn't trying to say "LOOK AT THIS!" and the song changes completely every 4 bars, but it's also not a total drone, or only beats. I'm a fan of analord but I also like there aren't acid squelches on top of everything. Good stuff.
  8. fer real? Must be hard picking favorite aphex tracks if you enjoy every single one equally... at a 10/10 level. edit.. I prob got trolled. Excellent work.
  9. For sure. I want to check those out now. Super curious what the hell they were developing before they scrapped it and went in this direction. I heard it was CODish, with lots of story, set pieces. (sooooo thankful they didn't go in that direction but wanna see Doom's alternate reality.)
  10. thought I clicked the videogame thread. Now disturbed.
  11. This isn't a criticism per se, but I swear you can hear the weed Rich is smoking. #fantheory
  12. (I'm blowing this thread up, sorry about that. Working from home today, and in a pre-release tizzy with no RL folks to talk to that give 2 shites about phex) I totally agree. I sort of blame Richards insanely varied and progressive output in the 90s. I think sometimes we are waiting for that "jump" he makes from time to time. HAB for example. Came from another planet at the time. But that was then. This is now. I'm conditioned to this kind of output now. Still enjoyable.
  13. Ha. Well at least they have open minds. Preferable to the "everything else is shit except AFX" <- i can be guilty of that at times though. (Druqks era)
  14. SHUT. UP. YOU. ARE. WRONG.
  15. A bit late to the party. But playing the hell (no pun intended) out of Doom. What a fantastic game. Nearly blissful. Vids online did it NO justice. Looks phenomenal, plays like a dream, great sound design, AND soundtrack. Haven't been this happy with an FPS in... wow.. like 12 years.
  16. There is a pretty big difference. 128kbps or not. That mystical synth is clear as day and floats "above" the track now, to my ears. All mud removed. It's a beaut. for real. it's sounds noticeably danker now. I haven't partaken in some time.. Sounds like a lovely idea when I have the record in my mitts. One thing I'm liking so far about the EP is it's possible to get "lost" in it seems. Repetative enough, bassy, takes its time, quite warm and pretty. Love me some Syro, but so much happening at every single minute, no time to bask in the Aphexian atmosphere.

  18. I really liked it then too, but the mastering works wonders. Gets me even more excited for the SC collection "greatest hits" or whatever it will be.
  19. For sure. When that air-y synth comes in, I perked right up. So clear, "lush", and Aphex as holy hell. Finally.
  20. Cheetah7B is muuuuuch more for me. I could listen to this on repeat for a long long time.
  21. Cheetah7B right here. No radio show to go through or anything. Zane Lowe https://itunes.apple.com/us/post/idsa.36e93ff1-3e15-11e6-a8ab-64fc7d3fabc8
  22. Definitely groovy. Really love the bass-line and the drums are effective. This one I could actually see people getting down to in a club unlike all of Deejay Selek. But yeah.. doesn't exactly go anywhere. It does feel like a "dj tool" from an alternate universe that resembles 1993.
  23. UMIL is one of the best post-syro releases to me.. maybe the best? And of course it was "released" as obscurely as possible. Debating listening to this track yet. Already know 2 other tracks way to well already... One thing I loved about receiving CCAI2. Felt brand spanking new (mostly) when I received it in the mail.
  24. the samples where up on amazon for everyone to listen Missed out on that.
