  1. Strong surface noise and crackle in the right channel only. Left channel unaffected. It’s not that hard to imagine...
  2. Can you post snippets of original record and the two replacements where the audio quality drops please I gotta say, it’s concerning how desperate you seem to be for a recording of the issue…
  3. That looks pristine ! If you're feeling brave (and when it's finally released) look into getting a Vampire v4 for it: Haven't seen the vampire video yet or know what it does, but perhaps a gotek device to replace your floppy drive could be an option to have/play a large set of games etc from a usb stick? The Vampire is kinda like an accelerator board, but not....as I understand it, it's an FPGA that takes the 68060 instruction set and improves on it (they dub it the non-existent 68080), as well as implementing other features of the Amiga custom chipset. There's contention in the community as to whether it's classed as emulation or not... I'd considered a Gotek, but I think for the most part for games I'll set up a WHDLoad system and load them from disk images. I actually quite like having to use floppies again.

  5. Got myself a decent condition Amiga 1200 Been playing around with emulation too, but there's definitely something about putting floppies in.
  6. Thanks for translating that. I would’ve been lost without that.
  7. Oh also, the only difference between the ltd and standard version is the sleeve - the record has the same matrix runouts.
  8. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VjEq-r2agqc did you get ahold of warp? I don’t see the point. They can’t keep sending copies until I get one that doesn’t have a defect. Law of averages in effect, it seems like this is maybe a bigger problem than originally thought. At this stage, im just going to chalk this up as another bad pressing from Warp.
  9. The thing is though, while it seems to be a fairly widespread issue, it also doesn't seem to be affecting everyone. I've no idea if that's because they used multiple stampers, and those of us who got duds were pressings made with that bad stamper, or if they actually are all affected and those who can't hear it just...don't hear it, for whatever reason. It would help if people could upload samples of what the defects sound like. If this already happened I apologize, keeping track of this thread is a pain. I already did, but I've taken the sample down. In any case, it sounds like excessive surface noise / crackle on the right channel only. It's very distinctive

  11. The mastering seems good, in fact it's probably amongst the loudest cut records I own—I have to turn the gain down on my Ultralite input so it doesn't overload. It just seems to be a manufacturing defect.
  12. I let go of material possessions long ago. Except for vinyl and books. And dildos And print out of the tits thread
  13. It's a manufacturing defect, so it's likely to be affecting certain batches. I'm guessing it's a bad stamper or something like that, but I don't think there's any particular way to avoid it by doing anything. For what it's worth, Warp are sending out a replacement for me today (for which I am really surprised and thankful for—they're not obliged to replace since I bought from Norman, so they're going above and beyond here.) Might be worth getting in touch with them man, seriously. did you contact bleep or warp I contacted Warp, at the address in the other thread Joyrex made (can’t link as I’m replying on my phone)
  14. More appropriately, can you listen to it (who has a tape deck these days)? I posted a thread asking this question a while back. Overwhelmingly most people have a means to playback cassettes
  15. Just posting to say that Warp have gone above and beyond here—despite buying my defective record from Norman Records, they have kindly offered to replace the record for me (just the record, my sleeve is okay so they're not replacing that). Really didn't expect them to be able to do anything here, since I did not buy from Bleep. Thanks to James at Warp, and to Joyrex for helping facilitate this.
