  1. Thanks guise Quality - is that the Baltic Triangle in Liverpool? Indeed it is - my new job is in the Elevator Studios building on Parliament Street (where the Baltic Social bar is), so I pass this every day. Cool place to work! I go over there a bit to meet the guys from Mocha Productions - the steak sandwiches in the Baltic Social are amazing. Heh that's cool, I've had a Baltic Burger here....honestly I'm a picky eater, so took one bite and was nope.avi, and I got told off for eating my sandwiches from home there (despite being told by my employer it was cool to eat my lunch in the bar) You going to the Luke Vibert gig at the Kazimier? I think I missed out on tix...

  3. I might've already said in here, but I'm gonna say it again - thank you everyone, seriously, for being so encouraging. If it weren't for the encouragement and kind words from people here, I probably wouldn't have the confidence to try and push my photography further than just taking pics on my phone. honestly, thank you so much. yup, they're on Flickr under Creative Commons Non-Commercial Attrib Share Alike licence, so feel free to share as long as you attribute the original work to me ;)
  4. thanks mang took them both yesterday during a foggy morning walk to the train station, so I could commute to work. those are pathways between different streets, pretty much akin to a 'back alley' except more like a 'side alley' walkway. Around this area of the north west of England, they're the kind of places you don't necessarily want to hang around unless you're doing a deal or something else similarly shady. At that time of morning, and with the fog and the lighting, I got a feeling of isolation and loneliness from them. Snapped them, and well, the rest of my day was pretty much determined by those pictures. Ended up having a pretty shitty day of feeling isolated and lonely, due to other circumstances. But the pictures came out cool, so it's a win overall.

  14. "No, no, no. It would be ridiculous. It’s all gonna end up on TV anyway. So many things get lost from celluloid to the final… whatever you’re showing on."

  17. I think legislation will be coming ASAP, surveys have been done and the majority in them state that they want legislation for them (of course, we all know what surveys are like!)
  18. cheers! yeh, the blades do get in the way... going to build another one eventually, setup just for photography, it'll have camera stabilisation and no blades in view! theres a new one from DJI which has 4k video and separate controller for the camera so you can have someone working the shots, consumer tech is getting wild... yeah, DigitalRev did a review on that one I think. the one where the rotor blades move up out of the FOV? very expensive toy! Also, I've heard of lots of photographers getting turned away at airports due to the ambiguousness of the legality of these things!
  19. lovely aerial shots there, shame those blades got in the way though!
  20. so jealous of the Tokyo shots. maybe one day I can get over there to take some of my own. Meanwhile: Murdishaw Wood 2 by oscillik, on Flickr the kazimier by oscillik, on Flickr
