  4. lol at equating leaks with lost sales
  5. ha funny thats the reason why i cant listen to music on the street, afraid of making awkward faces n´moves
  6. was gonna post this in the IDEM beard thread, but then realised my beard is no match for anyone in there. so I'll post it here instead
  7. Even though Windowlicker was supposed to be the 'single' for the then upcoming full-length that turned into Drukqs, strictly speaking you could say that no Aphex Twin full-length was ever accompanied by a videoclip, so I'm not betting on it. But who knows? Didn't Drukqs have the Rubber Johnny promo attached to it? Cunningham took too long with it, so it became it's own thing.
  8. These videos have been on YouTube for ages, and WARP probably filed the copyright claim manually now that they know they are being released. I really really really doubt that YouTube has Syro in their database already. I have never seen any cases where they have albums in their databases before they're publicly released, I've only seen when labels manually report claims on uploads that were leaked. I remember when I uploaded Actress' album to YouTube before it was released, it was fine, until NinjaTune manually filed claims and then had the album added to YouTube's database shortly after since the entire thing had leaked already. My videos were uploaded three days ago. Maybe they have just added those 3 tracks to the database then, the whole album...I doubt it still. please, continue to be contrary and without facts, so that the true king of watmm can slay you down like the clueless noob you are! also, please rulse the raed
  9. not to be a bummer but a leak through youtube is pretty unlikely as the copyright algorythm catches even parts of audience recordings of album tracks. how the hell would someone get away with an entire song? Because the song is not released yet therefore it isn't in YouTube's database of copyrighted tracks to match it up with? When leaks like this happen, they get taken down by the actual labels themselves, not YouTube's automatic detection. I know this because I've uploaded tracks/live rips before they're released, and they've only been taken down per the labels' requests. I guess you haven't been following the thread... jasondonervan has already established that the tracks from Syro are in the database of copyrighted tracks, hence the discovery that the Metz and Singapore tracks are on the album as well as the Manchester track. you also need to read the rules.
  10. I said it was the wrong logo, because it is the wrong logo.
  11. Notch didn't buy Analogue Bubblebath 5 from him... Richard's concern was that higher quality rips would end up online, effectively scuppering any reason to release them legitamately. I guess I can finally share this bit of the whole story since he's mentioned who bought them ultimately: When we were getting ready to list the Caustic Window LP on Ebay, it was also decided to go ahead and list ABB5 and MFM as well - all was fine until the last minute, when someone sniped both releases - turns out that sniper was Richard himself, as he explained his reasons - the more he thought about higher quality rips getting out there, the less incentive for him to legitimately release them (and he was working towards doing so). So, we talked with Ebay, got the auctions cancelled, and approached Notch Persson, who at this point was buying the Caustic Window LP (and actually was in the running for Melodies From Mars, but Richard outbid him at the last minute), and Grant talked to Notch, who agreed to purchase the others at an undisclosed price, since we were assured Notch wasn't going to rip and leak these online (keep in mind, this was the last known copy of the MFM test pressing - much higher quality than the tapes that got leaked years ago). That's why I had to say nay to the Kickstarters for MFM and ABB5, and why the Ebay auctions happened the way they did. This story is not 100% accurate... ABB5 wasn't bought by Notch. really now? I think you should read the rules.

  13. Syro thread is surely the greatest thread on WATMM ever... every day it delivers Wrong. greatest thread on WATMM is AAA
  14. Simple Regular by Norm http://lineto.com/The+Designers/Norm/ Ian Anderson used Norm's Replica for Autechre's Oversteps iirc that's not the right font, the R doesn't look right (even if you take into account that it's a thicker style, the top part of the R has a smaller "hole" in it) osc, on the website, check the little white box in the lower left corner, and go Norman > Fonts > Simple > Regular, and try in typewriter btw, thanks guys lol website design is terrible. yeah that looks much more like it, thanks for the protip.

  16. "So then he put thesis two other records up for sale - Analogue Bubblebath 5 and Melodies from Mars and I asked him to stop it - because I want to release them Properly through Warp. It's part of my back catalog did I want them to put out. Then this Notch guy, this Minecraft guy who so bought the Caustic Window test pressing on ebay bought these from him. And I said fine as long as he does not release them. I just do not want anyone to bootleg them" bit late for that.
  17. yep it'll come with a download code, and it will be for MP3, as has been the case on Warp Records releases for quite some time now. there will also be a separate download waiting for you on your Bleep account, which will be MP3. no WAV or FLAC download included, since Bleep decided they didn't want to cover costs for bandwidth on FLAC and WAV downloads as freebies.
  18. Because 24bit wav IF you care about audio at that quality... if you think iTunes audio sounds good enough, order via iTunes. That's what I did. I actually ordered the physical via Amazon. not interested in the limited edition? Depends on if I get a raffle ticket or not - you do know you DON'T have to purchase from Bleep to enter, right? Honestly, if it wasn't for the obnoxious shipping costs, I'd go for the Japanese CD - that's the complete set, IMO. There was a mention earlier that japanese vinyl had bonus track. Was that miscommunication or legit? it'll be a miscommunication. to my knowledge, no Warp Records release on vinyl has ever had a japan exclusive track on the vinyl.
  19. too much negative energy in this thread :'(
  20. It's WATMM. This is what we do. fucking lol
