  1. I thought Cloud Atlas was a fun/entertaining read. S'not a literary masterpiece but doesn't insult your intelligence either.
  2. The first time I saw that Blandford Flyer I got quite excited 'cos I used to love Blandford Fly: It was really rich and gingery, to the point where it would burn your tongue the way decent ginger beer does. But it obviously wasn't very popular because it started to disappear from shops and I would snap up any bottles I stumbled across. Then I saw Blandford Flyer late last year and nigh on wet myself with excitement. I bought several bottles and triumphantly took them to a friends house. I was so disappoint. It's like they showed the bottle some ginger and then poured sugar into it. I get the feeling Badger are trying to make it more popular by making it so sweet but I wish they hadn't discontinued the original Blandford Fly. tl;dr: I done liked a drink and wish 'twern't different.
  3. awesome, shall watch next. Kept saying to myself throughout "surely they can't top that......surely they can't top that" after they did yet another deeply depraved sexual act...but for all its 'shock value' (if you could even call it that) its a pretty great film. Some really nice film devices, shot nicely etc. piss on my face/10 What film are you talking about?
  4. I do, very much. I think with stuff like Wyatt's voice though, you have to get over the uncool/cringe twinge that it invariably inflames. Try Old Rottenhat. Lots of very childrens tv-esque parpy synths on that one. It's one of my faves. Try
  5. Heh, yeah I got similar scores for posting Harvey Milk and The Red Krayola. It seems a lot of people in that thread don't like anything that isn't synthy-ambient-timhecker-mom-music.
  6. Last week I dug out his adaptation of Dreams In The Witch House as part of my lady's ongoing education in all things horror/trash. For some reason I've never heard of or seen From Beyond. Although now I look at the cover of DITWH it actually says on it "from the director or Re-Animator and From Beyond", duh. Looks fookin' amazing, gonna watch soon as. Dreams In The Witch House is pretty great if you haven't seen it btw. (Though the trailer's not up to much)
  7. About to consume lamb rump steaks, asparagus and maybe some roasted garlic.
  8. Garlic butter on crackers. I had no idea how good this could be.
  9. My cat has just done a shit that appears to be half the length of her body that has stank/stunk out the whole living room. The end of the turd was lightly (lovingly?) resting on the handle of the poo scoop, which had been left in the litter tray. She's now hiding under the armchair, and rightly so. She also seems to be quite pleased with herself, and rightly so.
  10. 40 quid! Bollox new page. Concerning the snail slippers.
  11. I was admiring Homo Detritus' drawing earlier. Makes me wanna upload some similar stuff I did years ago, but think it's all very nsfw.
  12. I'd burned Exai to two discs for work but then got hold of (key osc) so had to burn disc 2 again. I gave the extra disc 2 to a work colleague who's never heard of Autechre but is a fellow weirdo and is in to scifi and other nerdy pursuits. That was two weeks ago, last night he listened to it and I got these text messages from him (he sends all texts in unpunctuated full caps as he believes they should be used like telegrams) "THAT CD YOU GAVE ME SOUNDS LIKE ZX SPECTRUM SUBVERSIVE CULT MUSIC. I LOVE IT" I told him I'd bring him in a copy of disc 1 the next day, his reply was: "THANKS I REALLY LIKE IT THE ONLY PROBLEM IS IT KEEPS ON TRYING TO DOWNLOAD THE SCHEMATICS FOR A PLASMA RIFLE INTO MY BRAIN BUT I JUST SEND IT A TELEPATHIC MESSAGE THAT MY PRIMITIVE CARBON BASED HARD DRIVE CANT ENMESH THE DATA" I decided to give him a copy of every ae album
  13. When I was out of work averal years ago I used to enjoy downloading 24hr+ Stephen King audiobooks (was an SK nerd from the age of 7 or 8 and have read every book at least 3 times) and listening to the whole thing, stoned and laying on the floor. Yes.
  14. Been on annual leave for a week and now back to work Monday. Getting that dread feeling now of having accomplishing nothing in all this free time I've had.
  15. Goodness! Actually rather pleasant, in that my-throat-and-tongue-are-covered-in-fire-ants kind of way.
  16. Similar, it was this: Difference being the twist off lid. Made me laugh when I saw it 'cos we used to do this at ATP with the capri-sun 'sport' pouches that had the twist caps. Pour out the drink, funnel whisky or jaeger into it and then walk into the stage areas with it in your pocket. Yeah, ginger ale will cover most sins. Or those KA black grape or fruit punch sodas.
