  1. Looks good, will give that a go. I imagine the transition from Lentic to Xylin would be quite pleasing. Would you use the short or long version of The PLC?
  2. Made one a little while ago using the first track from each LP up to Quaristice. Mainly just to amuse myself. Kalpol Introl Foil Dael Cipater Acroyear2 VI Scose Poise Xylin Room LCC Altibzz Works quite well. Just needed to trim the couple of seconds of intro stuff off the tracks from Cipater to LCC. Still not sure about having R ess on the end as you can't really trim that intro, though works as a 'secret track' Also don't know whether to count EP7 and have Rpeg between Acro and Poise. So, you can have one track from each album, what would your playlist be?
  3. I'd actually considered some smoked stouts when I was getting my other beers but remembered some posts from this thread advising against them. Maybe I'll give 'em a try next time. Delirium is tha sheet fo'sho!
  4. My friend who is still here just said "good man." He liked it fine, probably just me. I'm not that big in sweet anything and I'd just had a Delirium Nocturnum and a Sierra Nevada Stout so it didn't taste that great in comparison. Also not used to smoked beers.
  5. Friend of mine came back from Canada with this abortion/monstrosity: 750ml! My lady insisted on reaction shots. Tasted like you'd expect an arsehole to taste. If that arsehole happened to be full of cigarette butts and maple syrup. I poured the rest of my glass into his (glass, not arsehole). He finished the bottle. Weirdo.
  6. Today I thought I'd give Exai a rest, so have listened to (so far): Autechre: Anti ep & Garbage. Zoviet France: Garista. Matt Carlson: Gecko Dream Levels. AMM: Generative Themes. Sensational: Meets Kouhei II & Loaded With Power. She-Haw: Splinter Xenakis: Electronic Music Then I put on the Atoms For Peace album and then turned it off after 30 seconds (turns out I really wasn't in the mood for that kind of thing) and instead put on: Reverend Bizarre: In The Rectory of the Bizarre Reverend (DOOOOOOOOM!) Next up, a load of Dillinger Escape Plan albums and Hecker: Chimerization.
  7. Don't really do sci-fi very often. on the third one so far and still enjoying.
  8. My FWP is that I would happily eat psychedelics every day but only manage to acquire them once every 5 years or so.
  9. Some 2nd hand stuff from record & tape exchange in Berwick Street: Plus some Russian folk 7", not the one pictured below but very similar (same label)
  10. Agreed. I went out of my way to track down SAMC on vinyl because I wanted the big artwork and was disappointed to discover the above.
  11. Definitely prefer the older, rougher stuff. My fave LP is still: I fondly remember listening to it on headphones while tripping my face off, sat next to a fish pond, while staring at the cover and watching the cat's face melt and turn into a skull and then back to a cat. In time to the music. Huge chrome box was the last album I listened to properly though I did get Detrimentalist and PomPoms and enjoyed them. Went off him when he appeared to lose his sense of humour and made the those albums that sounded like earnest gothy post-rock with break-core beats.
  12. Just found this: http://secretthirteen.org/secret-thirteen-mix-048-team-doyobi/ downloading now...
  13. I have not. I'm a total Mantel hipster. I bought a load of her books when I kept seeing them on charity shop trawls before Wolf Hall was published. I do want to check it out though. So far I've read the one in my last post, Fludd and Beyond Black. And maybe one more, I forget. She also wrote a good piece for the guardian about a hospital stay for a routine operation and the hallucinations she experienced. Went to post the link but it's been removed as 'our copyright has expired.'
  14. Very entertaining and interesting. I was told the (true) story behind this by a friend when we went to The Hunterian Museum. Being by Mantel I imagine it's well researched.
  15. My 160gb ipod is full but the rate at which new and interesting music is coming into my life is not slowing.
  16. Yeah I know *dramatic sigh* Have the day off on Thursday and if it doesn't seem to be getting better by then, will get it looked at. Not ruling out that I may have just broken my toe, but I think I would remember doing something like that. My right foot has been massive, painful and swollen for a week now.
