  1. After over two hours of downloading a zip of the newest afx soundcloud mp3s, Mega froze at 99%, despite claiming to have finished downloading. There is no file to be found anywhere. Thought I'd be clever and pause/unpause the file to trick it into resuming. Download wouldn't unpause. Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu I hate everything at the moment.
  2. http://www.amazon.com/Qpets-6-Meal-Automatic-Pet-Feeder/dp/B005POODL8/ref=zg_bs_2975260011_3 Saved my life when I had a cat who insisted on being fed at 3am. It made both of our lives better, he'd go nom and then come back to hog my other pillow. lol awesome! Thanks for the suggestion. Unfortunately our cat eats this special wet food that prevents urinary crystals, which will spoil if it isn't refrigerated.
  3. Having a cat that whines incessantly until you wake up to feed it helps. That's what changed me from a sleep-in-til-noon guy to a begrudgingly get up at 9am guy. Now I fall asleep during the shows/movies I watch at night. I miss the old me.
  4. lol @ the month long's silence after you posted that.
  5. Amen. I saw him live during what I believe was his last tour. Never thought I'd be laughing with my mom about fucking the salvaged remains of dead women. (My mom's quite conservative, but Carlin had a way with words.)
  6. It's the downloading it in the first place that is the problem you silly egg. They're saying it's on your computer because they would have seen your IP in the torrent swarm, or been providing the seed or your service provider dobbed you in. There are ways of doing things on the net and ways of not, this is an example of not. nwae, immediately change your net behaviour cause you probably know all about what happens to people from slashdot, ars technica, torrentfreak, etcia. Or, since we live in Canada, continue on your merry ways. http://globalnews.ca/news/1752246/new-regulations-about-illegal-downloading-go-into-effect/ I win! They basically just said "stop sharing that shit."
  7. Viacom just sent my girlfriend several threatening emails, one for each episode of Game of Thrones and Inside Amy Schumer on my computer. I thought this only happened to other people! Anyway, guess that'll teach me not to delete stuff immediately after watching.
  8. I also really admired Carlin as a wordsmith. His bits were always water tight. Perhaps of all the standup "legends" his writing is the tightest. Man had some serious rhythm.
  9. I adore Carlin, and Pryor was at his best when he at his most unsettling. There was one set of his in a small bar where it was more like dramatic theatre than a standup performace; very powerful and affecting. I haven't seen anything else like it, and that gave me an instant appreciation for it. Plus both of them were integral in the evolution of comedy. Breaking bounderies of what is appropriate etc. ... sort of like what Cosby tried to do with rape!
  10. I was always baffled by how well respected he was by comedians I admire. Sitting through one of his standup specials is painful. I always appreciated the unique character of his speaking voice though, and until I heard other comedians giving him high praise I thought that was what most people liked about Cosby.
  11. Ennio Morricone's scoring the new Tarantino western (The Hateful Eight) --his first western score in 40 years! This is probably my biggest movie related first world success to date.
  12. I was picturing an outdoorsy couple returning home in life jackets for a marathon fuck.
  13. Guys, stop dog shitting the fwp thread. Way too much dog shit in here. /my fwp of the day.
  14. Just listen to all 50,000 mp3s while you're tagging them. Tag mp3, listen to mp3 while you tag the next dozen, repeat X 50,000. Piece of piss, and your collection doesn't go to waste.
  15. It's a little out of sync for the first part, but out of sync Isaac Asimov is still well worth hearing. I could listen to that guy make sense all day. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1CwUuU6C4pk
  16. Well now this is bugging me too I am dumb and had the wrong album in mind. It's Big Long Now off Incesticide that has the bit. It's the vocal melody that first appears at 1:35: It's a weird note combo, but for whatever reason it has found its way into my regular speech patterns, albeit an octave lower. (I tend not to scream to myself or at other people.)
  17. That's the Tsawwassen ferry terminal! I've been going there my whole life and never seen anything remotely fun like that happen. I was once behind Ron Jeremy in line up though.
  18. sorry but this is a lol. sucks hard...but funny Nah, it's defnitely an lol. Another one of his shits made it's way onto one of my girlfriend's books on top of her dresser. Not a Raymond Carver fan, I guess.
  19. My cat shat in a tiny paper bag full of old receipts.
  20. listen to the album and report back I'm voting on Floyd the Barber I just skimmed through a few times over and couldn't find the bit! it's maddening now.... What the hell song is that?? It's on one word, four notes, first and third note are the same, top note and bottom note are a tritone apart. it's a very unique melodic way of ending the line. Might be the most original vocal melody sequence in a Nirvana song. I can't think of anything to compare it to. Definitely record yourself singing it so we can crowdsource this Haha, I'd only make a fool of myself... I don't actually know what word he's singing, it's a really awkward note combo to nail, and he kind of yell-sings it. You'd just have my voice going "uuuUUUUuuu-uhhhh!" in a warbled incoherent mess. I guess that would be fun, but I'm not nearly proactive enough to record and post it.

  22. There's one line from one song off Nirvana's Bleach that keeps getting stuck in my head because when I'm talking I'll say a sequence of words that has the same melody. I don't even know the name of the song, but it's the only one that shares this particular melody i keep muttering inadvertently. Maybe it's not an FWP because I like whatever song it is.... but it keeps happening and I wanted to mention it somewhere, and it's not a first world success because I can't recall the song title. Bonus points to anyone who can guess the song.
