  1. I can definitely help you with that. I can definitely help you help him with that.
  2. My wallet is so full of cash that I can't close it.
  3. Heh, that's the only track on Syro that I skip.
  4. For me the album picks up after the first two tracks... but I think both of those tracks would be favorites of mine with the right arrangements. I agree most of the latter half and bonus track are very strong.
  5. Been there. But are they not still kicking around in your audio folder? Usually Cubase is pretty good about at least keeping around stuff you record on the hard drive, if not stability.
  6. I seem to be at a near all time high for irritability this month, not sure why. Also, my cat's breath smells like the area where the sewer meets the ocean, but I still allow him to lick my nose because it's adorable.
  7. I think the above post contains my personal record for most edits (5!)
  8. The mixing/mastering on this album actually made me feel self-conscious about my own in a way most electronic albums don't, so I'm not sure what you guys are on about... aside from the noise thing, which comes with the analogue synth territory. Some of those constant high pitch hums could have no doubt been EQed out quite easily if he really cared about them. Everything just sounds so much bigger compared with most electronic albums. Perhaps this is a bad thing on club PAs, but through my studio mons and headphones it sounds ultralush. Any nitpicks I have about Syro are more to do with how some tracks are arranged. I'd be curious to hear more of the early versions.
  9. I read the "post a terrible track" thread title as "post an incredible track" and was getting all amped up to post something awesome. Now I'm just posting this instead.
  10. The nights where I get drunk are nights where I go to bed earlier than I would otherwise. I think this means I'm old.
  11. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mU0DC_uR2mM -my current favorite band.
  12. Yeah, but it's way cooler to drink illegally, plus you've got a long period of time before the windows of opportunity start closing on you (unrelated to the drinking bit). FWP: I'm quoted in the new best answer to this thread, and it's not even an answer.
  13. Oh shit --Yul Brynner was General Bounine in the 1956 film Anastasia, which makes him a subtle Aphex Twin reference. FWP: I can't top triachus' birthday deaths.
  14. Yeah, perhaps this coffee is merely too good at what it does. FWP: discovered on my birthday that Nick Drake committed suicide on my birthday.
  15. probably some weird preservative or flavouring/colouring/bulking agent that you're having a reaction to. I'd ditch it. My girlfriend is having the same reaction, but she really likes it... aside from the sweatiness part. It is sort of fun. 7-11 coffee has the same effect. my roomate bought that hazelnut creamer... smells amazon I refer to that product as the "sick maker". Does smell amazing though, but not really worth it.
  16. The cheap flavoured coffee I bought makes me sweat profusely and feel like I'm on really sketchy drugs. And that's after only one cup.
  17. ... Windowlicker... Damn it, I knew something didn't look right about my message when I typed it.
  18. Drukqs was my introduction to Aphex Twin. It took a bit of time to fall in love with it, but from the first listen it was one of the most compelling albums I'd ever heard. I would always approach listening with a great deal of curiosity every time. So while it wasn't really a favorite album at the start, it was the most interesting album to me for a while... and it became a favorite pretty fast. Maybe around 5th listen is where the love started to set in. RDJ Album has since become my fave AFX, though if he'd merged Come to Daddy and Window Licker that would be pretty much be the best album of all time. But Drukqs still evokes that sense of curiosity when I hear it, which is a rare thing.
  19. I think there's a cavity forming on one of my wisdom teeth, and I already had a shit ton of dental work done earlier this year.
  20. I once slpt in until 7pm. It was winter, so when I looked at the clock I just assumed I had gotten up way earlier than usual. I was stoked because it meant I had time to get shit done before the session I had scheduled. it was a first session with a new client too! Luckily they were extremely forgiving. Present day FWP: for months I beat my girlfriend... at Doctor Mario about 60% of the time. But for the last few weeks she's been destroying me 9 out of every 10 games! I don't know what happened. My reflexes seem much slower now for some reason.
  21. I'm listening on my shitty lap top speakers, but the beat work is top class. As far as the composition and style goes, it doesn't sound much like Aphex to me... doesn't even sound like a ripoff artist in the same way Steinvord did. It's very good though --I'd be into hearing more from whoever this is.
  22. I don't understand this at all. The court is convinced enough of his guilt to send him to jail, but just kidding we're not officially convinced of anything, so we're going to send this guy who might not be the killer to jail for less time. Am I missing something here, or is that the logic behind the sentencing? That is so fucked up. Sorry to hear the terrible news, SG.
