A friend of mine who made this hiking video called 'Overexposed'. It's about a walk on Bleaklow in the UK Peak District and a visit to an air crash site exploring wreckage of a B29 Bomber called 'Overexposed' which crashed 60 years ago in 1948.

And they have entered it into a competition run by TRAIL magazine to win a trip to Everest Base Camp. The trip is a chance of a lifetime, the lad who made the video has been selected as one of five finalists. The only problem is the soundtrack needs copyright clearance. The track used is 'Rare Peel' from the Vibert/Simmonds album 'Rodulate' on Rephlex. If permission can't be gained to use this track in the video then it will be disqualified and his chances of winning the trip to Everest Base Camp are over.

So this is a plea for help, if anyone knows how to contact Luke (or Jeremy Simmonds) to ask for his permission or anyone at Rephlex (I know that's a long shot as they never reply to any of my emails), then please send me a message privately.

If permission can be gained to use Rare Peel as the soundtrack then the film will be shown at the Kendal Film Festival on Saturday November 22nd. I should point out that the film is non-profit making and not for any commercial gain. It was made simply for this competition.

More details about the competition can be found here:

Luke, if you're reading this - please help! It's for a good cause. If the film wins, the guy who made the film wants to try and raise money for Cancer Research.

The deadline for final submission of the film is November 3rd, so this is a matter of urgency.

Thanks for listening.

Velazquez, I don't know what the laws are regarding using copyrighted material. The film will be shown in front of an audience at Kendal Film Festival. It's the same old scenario... how to contact Rephlex. It's seemingly impossible... Surely someone can offer some advice? Joyrex?

This is a chance of a lifetime of going to Everest Base Camp. They'll never get this opportunity again. I'd hate to see them lose out just because they couldn't contact Rephlex. Seems such a waste...

That's why i would just use it, getting in contact with Rephlex is going to be unlikely, what are they going to do after the fact ? ask them not to use it.
