Nor a decent plot or believable characters, for that matter?

They are drawn as Japanese people in Ghost in the Shell.

Most modern style anime is drawn with slanty eyes.

FLCL has a pretty awesome plot and characteres, if only because it's so absurdly surrealist that it's all up to the viewer to fill in the blanks.

Also, Cowboy Bebop had some well written characters and a really enjoyable story.

I've watched a good deal of anime, however, and pretty much anything that's not what I just mentioned is quite shit as far as series go.

As far as movies, there's lots of good ones, notably Tekkonkinkreet, the Miyazaki films, Akira...all the well-known classics.

For every 1 half-decent anime you throw at me I can name 50 shitty other ones.

And Miyazaki is overrated.

akira's got japanese people in it.

Living in a setting that French artists like Moebius and Caza envisioned in their futuristic comics roughly a decade before Akira even existed.

Anime isn't innovative. It's derivative.

I don't think anyone was arguing that anime in general is innovative. Seems like you're set on just trolling it despite the actual conversation taking place, though.
