Guest Stoppit Posted July 15, 2009 Share Posted July 15, 2009 This probably will be good, but I don't like the way the trailer is edited to make it look like a bog-standard horror film (although I could be wrong, maybe it is a bog-standard horror film) I hate most trailers, and the talentless hacks that make them. Especially if you look at the last few films he's made, pretty mediocre; Good actors, decent story, everything else is very lackluster and heavy handed. Surely you're not referring to The Departed(?). That movie is flawless. I didn't see The Aviator and yeah, Gangs of New York was pretty bleh. goffer Posted July 16, 2009 Share Posted July 16, 2009 I didn't like The Departed... decent yes, but compared to his other gangster films like Mean Streets/Goodfellas/Casino... it wasn't even close. I thought Ridley Scott did far better with his first gangster film, American Gangster, than Scorsese did with Departed. Scorsese is an auteur of sorts... he'll take a stab at just about any genre and do well so this has a chance to be good or awesome. I'll be seeing it.
