major league gaming (halo)

for the last year or so, when looking for a way to kill time, i've been watching halo tournament broadcasts and VoD on mlgpro.com, and thought i would mention this to wattem, as i first heard about speedruns on this site and feel that i need to return the favor, somehow.

if you have any interest at all in FPSs or halo in particular, i highly recommend it; watching the best players in the world pull off ridiculous plays is, for some reason, the most absurdly entertaining thing ever.

as i recall you have to sign up for a free account (takes 10 seconds) to watch at least some of the videos ...

from dallas 2008, probably the most exciting championship in the past year:

http://www.mlgpro.co...-Video-onDemand (each game is listed as a separate linked video; go to 'championship sunday')

the best video from that series:

another link to various video:

a "top 10" series that they do in conjunction with espn:

it's similar, yeah!

the majority of people that take games this seriously i suspect are closet psychopaths

i dunno, i've watched a LOT of interviews with mlg pro players, andthey almost all have very balanced lives (friends, sports, college, etc.), but just have halo as their one main hobby. though video games always have that danger ...
