If you play it right.. you could pull in $150k a year for the next 18 months. The only drawback would be: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2010/05/27/gulf-oil-spill-illness-7-_n_592057.html

indeed, this little hickup most likely won't even make this list: http://www.popularmechanics.com/science/energy/coal-oil-gas/biggest-oil-spills-in-history

LOL

The largest oil spill the world has seen exacted little permanent damage on coral ecosystems and local fisheries, according to a report by the Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission at Unesco. The study concluded that about half the oil evaporated, one-eighth of it was recovered and another quarter washed ashore, mostly in Saudi Arabia

However, if the military can clean up oil fron the persian gulf, why not from the Mexican gulf? Is this a political statement about mexicans?

It's just a good example of US centric thinking. But at least you care, which is more than I can say.

I think its example of human nature... we pay more attention to things that go on in our backyard, then we care about things that happened on the opposite side of the earth 10-20+ years ago. Sorry for typo, had some whiskey and coke not to long ago

Except the Nigerian situation continues to this day....

I'm gonna be honest and say I only glanced at that article you posted, but is it really affecting as much variety of wildlife as this gulf spill? The problem I see with this spill over the one that happened in 1979 in the gulf is how close the blowout is to both the coast and the gulf stream, which it has entered. So unlike most spills I guess, the oil is really going to be moved around, increasing its range of devastation.

not to mention that Shell stood by while the Nigerian govt executed activists like Ken Saro Wiwa...BP needs to step up and start killing people...

Shell did more than stand by...
