"The Cure's website proudly displays a press release announcing that the band will soon release a deluxe three-disc reissue of their moody, atmospheric 1989 opus Disintegration, as Slicing Up Eyeballs points out. The reissue is due for a May 24 release date in the UK, via Polydor/Universal. According to Amazon, Rhino will release it in the U.S. on the very next day.

The original album is the place to go if you want to hear "Pictures of You", "Fascination Street", and "Lovesong". For many of us, it's the single greatest point-blank go-to classic in the Cure's huge catalog. The new edition includes a remastered version of the original album and a disc of outtakes and demos. The third disc contains an expanded version of the live album Entreat, containing live versions of every song on Disintegration recorded during a 1989 three-night stand at London's Wembley Arena.

You also get a 20-page booklet with previously unreleased photos and art and a period overview from Cure frontman Robert Smith. Smith is responsible for compiling, producing, and supervising the mastering of the whole shebang.

Will be buying this, for sure. My only other copy is on cassete! As I have been waiting a few years for the whole singing and dancing remaster. Finally its here.

Most of these CD reissues with bonus discs are a bit sloppy. But this looks worth the dosh.

The Entreat Live Disc that comes with it is the star of the package.

(originally released as just 8 of the tracks from the album, now the complete concert is being released,

and the version of Prayers for Rain on it is worth the price of the package alone)

Holy Shit. Thank you so much for posting a torrent of the alternative rarities. I will be buying this as well. I remember I finally got entreat in 2000 and fell in love with disentegration all over again because of it. I don't think I've bought more "remastered" discs of a single band! (Although I sold me seventeen seconds deluxe remaster)

Guest Greg Reason

I never got it why people love this cornball fuckin album so much.

I mean seriously, Pornography is about fifty times better. Bloodflowers is a hundred times better. And if you cut off all the horrid pop ditties off Kiss Me Kiss Me Kiss me then that'd be a hundred times better too.

'Same Deep Water as You' is really the only reason I bother with this record.

And what a dreadful album that last one of theirs was, why can't Robert just wake up to the fact that the only good songs he ever writes are morose and depressing. I think someone needs to make him sad again :emotawesomepm9:

Rant over.
