I can't believe there is an 'artist's representation' of something invisible

also the video doesn't illustrate anything

It's a start. Hopefully we'll have a real Death Star by 2050.

fully armed and operational by 2054

You know the military is like 10 years ahead of what they actually show you. Actually probably like 20...

In some scenario's over 30 years ahead and then there's stuff that they will never want expose to mere public citizen's

1w laser for $300 which can blind instantly or could eventually set fire to skin and clothing, its also shaped like a light saber

Warning: Extremely dangerous is an understatement to 1W of laser power. At close range, this Class 4 beam will cause immediate and irreversable retinal damage. Use with extreme caution and use only when wearing proper safety goggles with an O.D. of 3+ is required and 4.4+ for longer exposures. Customers will be required to completely read and agree to our Class 4 Laser Hazard Acknowledgment Form.

technology put to bad use (silly money system)

agreed. it's primitive that we still choose to kill each other rather than working together to achieve more respectable goals.

I dont think we'd be as technologically advanced as we are now if the military hadn't put funding into it so they could use it to kill people.

you're missing the point on what we're saying. The technology is there to bring about a positive impact to benefit the world, but we choose to use it to kill one another. And this is because such industries like Raytheon are highly profitable: and so the saying goes -- "Profit before human concern". This is just one of the reasons why we should no longer have a monetary system, because war is deemed profitable and this is exactly what we don't want if we would like to survive.
