there are linux command line programs which when combined with a script could do this very well. so my advice is to learn the bash shell, emacs, and maybe perl and also install cygwin lol.

Foobar can convert anything if you give it a codec. I haven't heard the term CBR before, but after briefly looking it up, I assume it means constant bitrate, as opposed to VBR. So I assume you're trying to convert into mp3.

I have converted flacs into 320 mp3 before. I just used the lame codec.

i don't think i'm even gonna try this because i've already transcoded to v0 and many of the bitrates are far lower than 320... composers in person 22cd box set

+1

I made several scripts when confronted to such situations, and I never never purposely learnt bash. (and don't listen to kaini, you only need bash)

i guess you're right then.

Powershell ? What the fuck is that shit ? Is it as good as bash ? Did they finally implement tab completion ? I definitively left the windows boat around the 3rd release of SP pack for XP so I have no idea.

v0 dips below 320 because there is no point in encoding for example silence in 320kbps. CBR is a huge waste of space, IMO.

And foobar can encode anything, it's just up to the encoder that it uses. In this case LAME would work well.

i think audacity can do this if properly setup

If properly set up Audacity is capabable of almost anything, but there's always the chance of Audacity saying 'hey fuck you, I'm going to something else and completely screw you over, fuck you'.

That's why it's called Audacity.
