attempting to make Hardstyle music, this is about my 3rd week in FL Studio learning how to make hard kicks and basslines. This isn't really good but i agree that it's "Decent" for 3 weeks (probly 10 days total because im not on fl studio everyday)

any tips would be awesome =]

Not sure what Hardstyle is myself. Had a listen. The first thing that does strike me is simply the volume, if your using compression

then it's overcompressed to the point of distortion making it a difficult listen, if that was the intention then that's fine but

even noise music is finely balanced and mixed. A good example is perhaps Clarks "Turning Dragon", there's an album that ranks up the compression to the extreme but is delicately and skillfully done, you're never holding the headphones away from your ears because of Piercing EQ.

I didn't mind the melody, the synth was a maybe a bit too happy hardcore sounding for my liking,

I guess as a track it comes across as more of a Jam than anything finished, especially the end bit where it's just the beat on its own

sounds tacked on but I get the impression it is indeed a work in progress. Keep at it!

The funny thing is that jumpstyle is almost dead now due to some kid-tv programs hyping up the dance to 4-6 year olds, resulting in playgrounds full of jumping little kids and embarrassed wannabe coolguys being not so cool anymore. :emotawesomepm9:

thanks, but yes obviously this is just a jam, and not a whole song. I actually just got 12.1 Surround Sound for my computer, so i think I'm going to get better faster. I learning how to make good quality reverse basslines with a good lead for a starting song.

you're making music in 12.1(!) surround?

whoa

Is that really good for producing music or just way too much? haha because it literally makes my whole house vibrate =]

I don't much like hardstyle, but the track was at least listenable. Definitely agree about the compression and the ending-- so basically, nothing constructive to add, other than it's an okay track.

12.1 would mean you have 12 loudspeakers and one subwoofer.

Stereo means 2, and that's what most people mix on unless you do work for movies.

With that said, this sounds like VNV Nation to me, but with more distortion.
